This is the study guide companion to the text (which I am finding quite good). It is essential to work the book to develop the foundation of concepts necessary for this course. However, many chemistry texts offer solutions for at least even or odd numbered problems in the back of the textbook, then offer a reasonably priced study guide that works the problems more fully. The Solomons et al text gives absolutely no answers so you are forced to buy this study guide - which is extremely pricey - in order to really get any value out of the text. I actually need to learn this subject and even on Amazon the duo cost me $200. At this price, I would have liked more thoroughness on some of the worked solutions. Some you get, some you don't.

This book includes all of the solutions in depth. It is necessary to buy it if you want to learn organic chemistry from the Solomons 9e textbook.

This solutions manuel is a great studying tool. I recommend buying it just to check the work that you've done.

I ordered a book, cause the picture shows a book, but in very tiny print it says its just a CD. Why pay that much for just a CD. My fault for not reading i guess. Buy the actual book guys.

This book will help a lot with the text since the text has very limited solutions. Limited means, only very few questions were answered with very short answer.
I do like this book because it does provide me with what I need.

Recommendations:
1) Don't expect it to be a study guide that will make you understand the text by chapter. It has a guide (more like summary, or quick note) after a set of chapters.
2) Try to find a second hand book, because this book really don't worth the price. Plus, it's not a book you will be studying on.
3) When you get this book, you might want to look at the table of content for the set up and arrangements of the topics, because there are some guides between a set of chapters, and see how they are related to the text book. Or else, you might be very lost.

Learning organic chemistry is all about practice, and this manual is a great tool to help you do that. Problems are well worked through, and there are extra examples of processes and concepts. Additionally, there is a quiz, with answers for every chapter of the book so you can really nail down new information. This is a hefty manual at over 600 pages, and well worth the cost for both the struggling organic student as well as the student who is already doing well and wants to ensure a good grade

This book is great to have while reading the text book for studying. There are small study check questions as you read through the chapters, and you can check your knowledge right away with this study guide. This allows you to instantly know if there is something you don't understand before you continue reading.
