I keep a flock of around 40 chickens, all mixed breeds. I have been feeding this formula to them for years, and they just love it.
It's mainly grains, with pieces of cracked corn. I add a supplement on the side to cover what they don't get out of the food.
I advise using pellets rather than mash, because these are easier for chickens to grip and swallow. You also waste less in pellet form.

I just wish that I could buy it online, the price that it's currently listed for is a huge rip off compared to what it sells for at the local feed store.
But if you can find it for a reasonable cost, this is the best chicken feed I've found for a laying flock!

I'm about half way through the bag and the chicken are loving the feed. I was using crumbles previously the pellets are so much better. Less mess...less waste. I got my first egg yesterday!!!

I have been feeding Scratch n Peck brand feed to my 15 chickens. I bought a bag of this organic pellets trying to save 8 dollars on a 50 lb order. After 5 or 6 days on the pellets the birds just are not taking to it much at all. Seems they like it less every day. I ordered more scratch n peck brand. I guess you get what you pay for. Sorry girls. I know better now. Im sure if your birds are used to eating pellets or crumbles they would probably take to this pretty good. But if you have been feeding whole grain feed like scratch n peck. It is a different ball game.
