As someone who has spent more money on teas than I have needed to...

If you are looking for White Hair Silver Needle, that is, legit Baihao Yinzhen, anything that is true Baihao Yinzhen is going to more or less inherently be what we would refer to as "organic" or "kosher" even if it doesn't have a certification (which increases the price). I would encourage reading on this particular topic...one of the reasons is that authentic Silver Needle is sourced from a very particular area during a very short window of time by a very few select individuals and the methods in which white tea is processed is more or less, 1) pick it, 2) wilt it, 3) serve it. Very few produce it, and the process is very simple and involves ZERO "processing" by which we know the word in regards to consumable products. Whether it has fancy certification stickers or not, if it is an authentic product, it is more or less going to be the same provided the sellers are handling and rotating stock correctly.

If you are loaded then you should buy this tea as it is very good. This tea IS 100% authentic WHITE HAIR Silver Needle and it is NOT a lower quality tea marketed as Silver Needle, which is commonly found. In other terms, it is a top-notch product, but (like Teavanna) it is incredibly expensive. I've had two different years from this maker and it was consistent in quality and 100% true Baihao Yinzhen. BUT, between the certifications and the fancy tin, you are paying as much as twice as what you would elsewhere, for a product that may come from the exact source, picked by the same person, possibly even picked from the very same plant on the very same day, sold to the very same primary distribution plant.

Not for everybody.

This is a rather hard to find tea in your local store, but here on Amazon there's quite a few sellers. The tin is rather small - but it is perfect for those that just want to give it a try before investing into a bigger container. I used the french press to brew the tea as this way i don't get any of it in my cup. The tea is VERY light color, so don't freak out if after steeping for 5 minutes as recommended it doesn't look much different (just hold it to the light and you'll notice a very light color change). Surely, the more leaves you put and longer you let it steep, the stronger the taste will be.

The taste is pretty light, kind of nutty (pine nut maybe?) Very different from other teas. It has a certain sweetness to it even without adding additional sugar, but you wouldn't say that it is sweet like the flower teas are. The flavor stays with you after the sip goes down. This white tea is only picked a few days a year - and it is relatively expensive, but i'm glad i tried it.

Many find white teas a tad bland . . .however, I'm willing to tolerate bland for white tea's medicinal properties. Studies show white teas can prevent cancers, aid in weight loss and has three times the antioxidants of green tea.

Silver Needle White Tea has been harvested while the leaves are still in bud form rather than a more mature plant other white teas come from.

I like to mix this tea fifty fifty with an oolong or black tea for more flavor.

I ordered this and the Summit silver needle tea at the same time. This tea was the better of the two. The flavor is excellent and it takes much less tea to get the taste that I want.

I've had this tea before and I enjoy it. It's not a strong tea which is a nice change every so often. I do reuse the leaves 3 times. I will purchase it again.

The other day I came across Dr. Andrew Weil's Food Pyramid in which he suggests "white, green, oolong" teas, two - four (2 - 4) cups daily. That is why I decided to try white tea. My next step was to find the best one, and~~ ta-dah! I found it here with Amazon! This tea tastes wonderful. The beautiful, delightful flavor is difficult to describe since it is in a class by itself! The caffeine level in this product is "medium", and I have had no "caffeine" effects from it whatsoever. Once a cup of boiling water is added to one tablespoonful of organic silver needle...leaves~~~ let them infuse from one to three minutes. Some teas, if they are infused to the maximum time recommended, can taste terrible. ~~~not so with this one! This tea, I think, was made for royalty to enjoy and each and every one of is royalty!!

Might be little on the expensive side but from my novice experience it seems good quality. Most of the leaves are full sized. My biggest fear was it was going to come with a lot of little crumb pieces but its not that bad.
