I severely damaged my hair using a product that changed it's formula. I'll tell you, it was CANTU. Loved it - until it changed. NEW is NOT always better. My hair became dry, very damaged and I experienced severe breakage and lost about 8+ inches of hair with the "new and improved" formula. I was devastated as it took me 3 years to grow that hair. Then on top of that I ruined my hair with bad color (can you say...Bozo the Clown?) Man, what I klutz I did on my hair.

I found this product and had my daughter apply it and fix my color (she's a hair stylist and I will no longer apply my own relaxer even though I have done so my entire adult life - I am almost 50!) This product is amazing and I noticed the results immediately with the first use. Hair loss was VERY minimal and with a good cut my hair is soft, glossy, healthy, bouncy and already I see growth after one week. AMAZING!! I'm still having a little breakage - but I expected that. I don't impress easy, but this produce is impressive so far. I moisturize my hair nightly and wrap with a silk scarf religiously. I do use light heat daily and I use Luster's Renutrients Slick Stick (pomade wax stick) - also amazing - Walgreens for both, check it out my sista's. You'll be glad you did.

I was using Dark and Lovely for several years. Then my sister told me I should try Olive Oil because it's awesome I would see better results.

She was right! I love the results of this perm. My hair comes out beautifually moisturized after conditioning and straightening it, and it's so soft I can't put certain hair clips in my hair or it will slide right out.

The shampoo and conditioner(in a bottle, sold separately) are wonders, too. I'll be using this perm from now on.

I've been relaxing my hair for 16 years...and believe me I've tried everything from Revlon's Fabulaxer to Hawaiian Silky to Botanicals Something-or-other... Believe me when I say that this is the only one that works!!! And works well!!I have African American hair that is not super coarse but can be resistant in it's own right. It is also extremely fragile. In the past, I've used relaxers that have dried out my hair and made it extremely frizzy and some were so strong that they nearly balded my edges...Olive Oil was gentle helped them grow back. My hair is stronger now than ever and have...for the first time...grown my hair to my shoulder blades. This product and rollersets using Olive Oil Wrap and Set Mousse are the secret to healthy hair...at least the secret to my healthy hair.I recommend this product if your hair is currently unhealthy and you need a change and would like to see real growth. I also recommend this product if you are tired of spending too much time, energy and money on maintaining your healthy hair at the salon...or if your currently relaxer just isn't straightening the way it used to.

...is this not all what I thought it would be? I had no problems using my Dark and Lovely, but I wanted to switch to a better relaxer (better meaning healthier for your hair ingredients) and I thought this would be it, seeing as it had olive oil in it. I have been relaxing my hair for more than 6 years now; A few things I didn't like: the shampoo to rinse the relaxer out of your hair doesn't turn white. I am used to my shampoo turning white, as this lets you know you have rinsed all the relaxer out. Another thing I didn't like was the Olive Oil Reconstructor. This was supposed to be a deep conditioning, but it did not moisturize at all and I sat under a dryer. And finally, when it was all said and done, it looked like I was 2 weeks into my perm, meaning that it didn't straighten as I had hoped, but it did do a little something. I wasn't completely satisfied. So, now I have to wait four weeks until I can get my perm in again. I will be going back to Dark and Lovely. I guess the saying "If Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It" applies to this situation.

I'm a latina who has thick spiral curly hair to the middle of my back. Which, in theory, is beautiful in itself. But, to keep it looking good, I have to either wash it daily to keep the spiral curl (which then dries it out) or wash it and spend almost two hours between conditioning and straighening twice a week with touch ups every day(which eventually dries it out to). Who has that kind of time?

A relaxer at the salon was going to run me upwards of $200! Yeah right!

I was at the CVS and went into the relaxers section. There was a pretty African American girl working in the aisle with very smooth and shiny hair. I had already grabbed this box and asked her if she knew which one was the best one. She commented that she only uses the one I had in my hands, so I thanked her and grabbed another box(um, I have LOTS of hair....).

I was REALLY thankful that this DOES NOT HAVE A BAD SMELL! Finally, a product that does what it says! It wasn't stinky and I was surprised that one box almost covered all my hair.

My husband stated that my hair is soft and my mom didn't even notice that it was relaxed. She said it looks like it always does when I spend 90 minutes on it.

How great to find a product that works FAST and doesn't smell. And now it only takes me less than 20 minutes to make my hair look salon perfect.

I have tried TCB relaxers, Dark and lovely, African Pride, Optimum,etc and the olive oil relaxer so far is the best. I am puertorrican and have have african decendance that cleary shows in my curly hair. Naturally I have VERY fine and curly hair (like SCary Spice from the Spice Girls) and some relaxers tended to burn my hair and make it absolutely brittle and hard (like dark and lovely).

Since I blow dry my hair and then use the curling iron, I wanted a product that would give me a weightless bounce to my hair instead of making it stiff, and the olive oil relaxer did exactly that!!

I'm in love it! I had salon quality relaxed hair right off the bat!! You have to make sure you time yourself and follow directions STRICTLY! I've seen some women over do their relaxers and my hair looks naturally straight with this product.

One thing I did differently is not use the mousse-leave in conditioner or leave in conditioner the product had because they usually weigh down my hair so I used my own stuff.

I also suggest that if your hair is a bit damaged because of constant relxing,you should buy an additional conditioning treatment to give your hair a softer texture and extra shine.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOX PERMS IVE TRIED. IT LEAVES YOUR HAIR SOFT , STRAIGHT AND VERY EASY TO COMB THRU. I ALSO LIKE THAT IT COMES WITH THE OLIVE OIL DEEP CONDITIONER PACK INSIDE. I ALSO HAVE A SENSIVE SCALP AND HAVE TRIED THE REGULAR AND SUPER AND HAVE NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE RELAXER BURNING MY SCALP. YOU WILL SEE GREAT RESULTS , I HIGHLY RECOMMENED THIS PRODUCT.

I use this product every 6 months and OMG!!! I have to admit and be honest, THE PRODUCT IS EXCELLENT! Yes! Your hair will look extremely beautiful and bouncy just like the women's hair on the box's picture, "I know it sounds like crap," but it's true. The product also moisturizes/invigorates your hair strands and if you use the shampoo and conditioner along with the olive oil and hair mayonaise lotion, it prevents breakage and creates stronger, more managable, and soft healthy looking hair. The perm is not thick like a majority of other African American perms are and is mostly water based so you know you are getting a perm where the chemicals are not bad or harsh. It's extremely healthy and you just have to love this product!


Ps. The only drawbacks on the lotions (That I recommend women use with the perm) are that they are greasy and you will have to sleep with a good thick satin scarf at night, which will lock in extra moisture.

Like I said in my other review, I swear by the Organic Root Stimulator (ORS) products. I have been using the Extra Strength relaxer for the past 3 years or so because I have thick, coarse hair and it works like a charm. My hair is silky, shiny, and most importantly HEALTHY after every relaxer. No other relaxer I have used has come near to giving me the same results. Out of curiosity, I decided to try my luck at Africa's Best Olive Oil relaxer a couple of years ago to see if I would get similar results to ORS. It relaxed my hair all right, but left it dry, brittle, and my hair was breaking more. I immediately switched back to ORS and have not looked back since!

I know I sound like a spokesperson for the company, but I promise I'm just a very satisfied customer! I use the Incredibly Moisturizing Hair Lotion in between relaxers, wash my hair with the aloe shampoo, condition with the Replenishing Pak, and my hair has truly benefited as a result. It's the healthiest and longest it has ever been in my entire life. Bottom line: Use ORS! You won't regret it

I love this relaxer. I am a soldier who is deployed & was here ordering more of my favorite relaxer when I decided to read some of the reviews on it because I love reading product reviews for everything I buy. Most of the reviews were positive but some weren't & after reading them I can only come to two conclusions as to why they had bad experiences.

#1. I cannot stress enough YOU MUST FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS to the letter! If you leave ANY relaxer on too long you will cause serious skin damage and could lose patches of hair. All relaxers do this when not used properly; for best results you must follow all precautions listed by the manufacturer.

#2. Most people only need a Normal/Regular strength relaxer no matter the hair type. Many women think that if their hair is really thick and/or coarse they need Extra Strength but that is usually not so. Even if this is not your first time relaxing your hair, if you are changing products I recommend always trying the Normal strength first & only if that does not work try something a little stronger next time.

I always get amazing results with this relaxer. I'm trying to grow my hair out and I also want healthier hair; so I no longer blow dry or flat iron my hair & this is the only relaxer I can use that leaves my hair looking like I did flat iron it. I also love the replenishing conditioner that comes with it so much that I bought a bottle. However, I only use the shampoo when I perm my hair because it contains sulfates & I prefer sulfate free shampoo because it doesn't strip your hair. Yet, you have to use a neutralizing shampoo after perming to halt the chemical reaction. To sum it up, I love this relaxer & when used properly it's amazing.
