This review is from: How To Grow Organic Vegetables, Fruit, Herbs and Flowers: The complete guide to cultivating a productive and beautiful garden the natural way, with 800 step-by-step photographs (Paperback)
This book is great for people that want to know how to get into organic gardening or have started and want to learn more detail. They start off with the philosophy behing organic gardening and move on to all the components that make it successful. About 1/3 of the book is devoted to different types of plants you can grow (edibles and ornamentals) and each plant has several pictures of what the plant, flowers and fruit look like and how to start, grow and harvest them. There is even a handy calendar in the back so you know what chores have to be done in the garden and what plants to plant at the appropriate seasons. I am a master gardener and many of the things I learned in my class were right there in this book! Excellent advice, and very well explained. There are also always pictures to show what they are talking about.
