Baby food is a myth -- canned little jars of mush weren't around just a few generations ago. For thousands of years we've been feeding our kids the same nutritious things we eat, but in the last 50 years that trend has changed. Books like Organically Raised are so important for getting out fresh ideas of nourishing our children. The food our kids receive in the first few years of life are arguably the most important years of nutrition, and have an impact on a child's lifelong health. Why not make those years of whole and fresh foods? Organically Raised is filled with recipes that I drool over as an adult. The flavor choices are innovative and make me excited to hit the kitchen and feed my family right.

5 stars from me, no doubt.

I love how amazing this cookbook is. It's unlike any other baby/toddler food book. It teaches really how to nurture your child through organic food and conscious cooking. I also do not like complicated recipes and these recipes are so quick and delicious. Clean up is minimal so you can get back to enjoying your children. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially moms who are not familiar with making their own baby food. It's a book that is an easy introduction to making your own baby food. The toddler recipes are not just for toddlers, adults go crazy for them too. It's such a comprehensive cookbook filled with love and I promise you will not be disappointed. The pictures alone are absolutely amazing.

I am a firm believer in getting children to eat a variety of foods that are healthy for them. Teaching them to enjoy and love new things. This book is full of amazing, delicious and colorful (beautiful!) recipes for simple first foods, complex (flavors!) dishes and sinfully nutritious deserts! I am so pleased to have been introduced to this book and I'm sure you'll enjoy it too.

Being a first time mom, it is so easy to become overwhelmed during the first year. Pre-made foods are an enticing option at times, although I know it is not best for my baby. Organically Raised brings me back down to earth and reminds me that creating healthy meals is one of the most important things that I can do for my baby. Teaching her healthy eating habits and modeling them will stick with her for life! After looking through the recipes, I knew that my daughter would go bonkers for all of them. I am having trouble getting her to eat her veggies and many of the recipes have a creative way of "sneaking" the veggies into the food, especially into the cheesy dishes, which are my daughter's faves! So far, I have made the Mexican Soup, Quiche, and the Sweet Potato Fries. They were all absolutely delicious and easy finger foods as well. As an added bonus, my husband and I were able to eat the food right along with her! It is so nice to be able to cook the same meal for the whole family. I think my baby would agree!!

I am extremely pleased with this cookbook. The recipes are creative while remaining appealing to small children. I love the focus on cooking with organic seasonal food not to mention the beautiful photography throughout. Beyond the recipes, Organically Raised is the only book you need if you are looking for a guide on when and how to start your baby on solid foods. It is full of good advice and answers to common questions, in addition to explaining all you need to know about making your own baby food. There is even a chapter on special diets. I do wish this book was around when my older children were babies, and I do think it will become one of my favorite baby shower gifts!

From the moment I opened this cookbook, I was hooked! The photo's of the food are super appetizing and I couldn't wait to try them.. and when I did, everything turned out exactly as it was supposed to. The reason I prefer this cookbook to so many others, is the unique and fresh Ideas Anni has to offer. She shares recipes I've never thought of or heard, rather than re-writing the same recipes that grace healthy kids cookbooks everywhere. These recipes are so unique to Anni, I would be hard pressed to find similar ones online. You must have this book! I couldn't recommend it enough.

I don't often write reviews, however this cookbook for babies and toddlers is amazing. I received this book as a gift from my mother several months ago, and I only recently started using it. The recipes are fabulous, not only are they conducive for baby and toddler but also for Adults. I highly recommend this cookbook for new mothers or people who are looking for a simple but creative way to make food for themselves or their child.
