5.0 out of 5 stars Helps control flyaway hair and flaky scalp
The instructions say to apply before showering, but I use it more as a leave-in conditioner. I put a small amount in my palm (maybe pea-sized), I rub my hands together, then I apply it strategically to my hair -- to my ends (to condition), around my face (to control flyaways), and on my crown and down the sides (to add shine). I wait until my hair is dry or mostly dry to...

I wait until my hair is dry or mostly dry to do this.

I don't run my fingers though my hair or try to get complete coverage. Instead, I use my fingertips to get small sections at a time. For the ends, I sometimes sandwich my hair between my two palms (or palm + fingers of other hand) and gently rub or dab the oil on. My last step is to run my palms flat down the back and sides of my head (to add shine).

To deal with my dry, flaky scalp, I put a small amount on my fingers and rub just my fingertips together. Then I rub my fingers into my scalp (I find this easier to do while bent at the waist, with my hair hanging upside down). I add more oil as needed to get the top and sides of my scalp. I do this after my hair is dry and before any styling efforts (or before I go to sleep).

This may sound like a lot of oil, but I haven't had any trouble with my hair looking greasy or gross afterwards. In fact, my husband has commented on the nice shine. I think being careful not to add too much and having a "touch up" (rather than "get every strand") approach has worked for me. Also, I have various other hair products and I don't use this one every day.

To be honest, plain ol' coconut oil might work just as well, but this product has a nice viscosity to it (coconut oil is solid at room temperature). BTW, this product was featured on the Today show, and you can view the clip at the company's website [...]. Organix does NOT test their products on animals (hooray!); this particular product has egg whites, though.

As for the warming aspect, well, I'm not really sure. It seems to warm up when I rub it between my hands, but then rubbing alone would cause warming. So I don't know, but either way, I'm happy with this product.

FYI, I have dark, wavy, shoulder-length hair that I wash every other day. Its texture is medium (not baby fine and not coarse).

i have very dry hair that is prone to breakage. i bought this to use before i blowdry my hair and i wish i stuck with a different organix product like vanilla silk or coconut milk.. this product did little for my hair besides make it feel greasy and nasty. wouldn't recommend to friends or buy again!

This stuff doesn't do a thing. Aside from its pointlessness, it doesn't even really get warm, as its name suggests, even when the directions are followed presicely. I would give it 0 stars but the website makes me give at least 1.
