More About the Author

Dr. Ziegenfuss is a management professor at Penn State University, teaching in the graduate programs in health and public administration. Coordinator of the health administration program, he holds a doctorate in Social Systems Sciences (The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania); master's degrees in psychology and public administration (Temple University, Penn State); and a bachelor's degree in English (University of Maryland). He teaches courses in strategy, organization theory and behavior, quality, and problem solving. His research interests are in two areas: (1) strategy/strategic planning and (2) quality improvement/customer service. At the Penn State Medical College, he has been an adjunct Professor of Medicine since 1988.
Dr. Ziegenfuss has written more than 150 articles for journals and conferences and has authored thirteen books. He is an active advisor to both the public and private industries. His work in education, research, and consulting has been supported by more than seventy-five organizations, including academic medical centers, associations, hospitals, banks, and nonprofit agencies.
