Editorial Reviews

Review

"This text is laden with history, theory, and description. It serves as a foundation for the student’s future decisions...I personally believe it gives them a sense of the development of theory over time in the various areas covered. It gives them a basis for forming their own leadership styles, understanding that perhaps they are not a clear cut one size fits all but perhaps a bit of many theories and models. This text gives them this sense of the richness of theory and the realization that there is no one size fits all answers. However, it lays a foundation on which they can predicate future administrative decisions, reforms, and procedures." Patricia Helene Earl, Marymount University --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

From the Back Cover

This text is the one text I have used that students consistently like reading and make complimentary remarks about in the course evaluation.”

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Boring, January 19, 2007

This review is from: Organizational Behavior in Education: Adaptive Leadership and School Reform (9th Edition) (Hardcover)
I would have to say that most text books are written as though the teacher from Ferris Bueller's Day Off is reading them, boring and mundane, but this book is written as though someone is talking to you. He goes off with some relevant side tangents to help you better understand the concepts. I appreciated this book for the topics covered and the manner in which they were addressed.

This was a used book in great shape at a much reduced cost from brand new! There was basically very little wear in the book.

I just completed doctoral comps at Liberty University. This book was one of the texts used in this program. I transferred into Liberty with a conferred Ed.S, so I had not taken this course at Liberty. When I found out this text was used in one of the courses for which you had to write a Comps response, I purchased the book. Even with the text, I had to search out other resources to answer the question appropriately. This book is okay, but did not meet my need.
