Using this text in my Management and Leadership MBA class. Some of the exercises are a little out there in my opinion, but never the less, I see this as a book that I will keep for my library and not re-sell after the course. Because is is basically like a workbook, I would not recommend buying it as a used book unless you are sure it has not been marked up or had pages removed (they are perforated to allow for this).

Shows how to easily attract the best people to your business and keep them around! Reduce turn-over, and become a great leader of people are great ways to improve your bottom line! Let the finance-lovers do the math, so you can focus on the people of your organization.

For all you science-lovers all advice is based on research and with plenty of references on every page! This is not just opinions, or current fads they discuss, they give you reasons why things work and why, and in which situations. There are also plenty of good examples of different real companies cultures and different leaders etc, but presented in a very non-judgmental, professional, and fun way! Also includes interviews with CEOs of great companies. Sometimes the writing gets very fun/artsy, showing the joy of the writer and which puts you in an amused and startled mood, but gets you thinking!

The best thing is the positive view you get of leadership. You don't have to boss anyone around. Being good to your employees in a whole variety of proven ways is often the best choice for your bottom line! The only thing that could be better with this version of the book is that some advice the book gives is a little oversimplified or outdated. For example in one small example they assume you can change your boss simply by telling your boss that which behaviors in your boss you don't like, and them giving him positive reinforcements when he does what you like. Boss-employee relations, and people in general are more intricate. But this is only one flaw I found in countless amounts of good advice and examples!

I think this book nicely aligns with "Loosing my Virginity" by Richard Branson, showing once and again that a good/positive business culture and rewarding and investing in your employees in generous, non-traditional ways will be good for business.
This books shows you exactly how to do that in the best way

This was my textbook in my bachelor level organizational behavior class. Funny that it was years ago, but I still remember what I read from it. The quizzes given in the book taught me a lot about myself. They were our "ungraded" homework. I still have the answers saved. The exercises given in the textbook included real life applications. We made groups in the class to "play" them. The idea was to learn how to solve behavioral problems of employees. What I found out later was that the contents often were spoken about in other classes. So this book works great as a handbook. I made the mistake of selling it. Now I am in masters takinge a similar class little more advanced than this. The book is terribly written and has no link to modern organizations for which I miss this one a lot. The only bad side of this book is its set of exams which probably come from the author. Our professor made us memorize the chapters for midterm and final. That's the thing I hated the most.

I wish I would have purchased this used instead of new. It came directly from Amazon, but was not shrunk wrapped. The cover had signs of wear from being stored with other books. The pages are a cheap off white (newspaper like) type paper. There was no e-text or kindle version available. The purchase price was $170, yet Amazon only pays $37 to buy it back. Ouch, huge variance.
In all fairness, I really didn't want to take this class let alone pay this much for a book. Next time, I am going to buy used.

Great analysis into management and company behavior. If you've never heard of topics such as coaching or personality indicators, then this book is great as it's full of examples and case studies to support the sometimes vague concepts of the soft skills. My own personal issue and in no way detracting from the text: I do wish there was a smaller, condensed book of just the highlights without the supporting stories as I'd like to use this more but don't want to carry a text book around everywhere.

The content of the book is great, especially when dealing with the subject in detail or even when being forced to deal with it (like I was in college). What i really liked about it was the "Learning Points" section at the end of each chapter, which is very useful especially since some of the chapters tend to be...long winded (from my point of view). To sum it up: I enjoyed dealing with the book, though it's pretty expensive.

Disclaimer: I am not a management major, so this was not an interesting topic for me.

Organizational Behavior is written in a light, conversational tone. This seemed to help reading the oh-so-dry topics throughout. The exercises were helpful because they attempt to realize conceptual topics in terms of your personal experiences.
