Organizational Behavior,
By Amber French (Harlaxton College, Grantham, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities and Challenges (Hardcover)
We used this book as our textbook for Organizational Behavior this semester, and I found it to be extremely helpful. The writing is clear and concise, and the chapters are divided into four parts that make the distinction between individual and group study clear. There are plenty of graphs, tables, and diagrams, which illustrate the theories and statistics clearly. Most helpful, however, were the vocabulary definitions and the chapter summaries, which alleviated some of the pre-test stress.

This review is from: Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities and Challenges (Hardcover)
The book, Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities, and Challenges by Debra Nelson and James Quick is a good source for anyone interested in learning about the behavior in organizations. It involves everything from the general concepts of organizational behavior to the detailed structure and processes within an organization. The graphs and charts help the visual learners, such as myself to better understand important concepts and theories. After each chapter, the authors displays summaries for the learner to review important key terms and concepts before reading on to the next chapter. Unfortunately, the defintions of the majority of the terms throughout the book can be described in a simple, easy to understand way, but the authors fail to do so. On the other hand, various case studies fill the book for students to get involved in class discussions and debates. Overall, this book is a good source for professors and teachers to utilize in their classrooms.

I arrived in good time and the textbook was in good condition. However, I did not know it would be a library edition. I hope that the book wasn't stolen from the library or something. But other than that, I'm satisfied.

Evan's Insight,
By Evan Young (Harlaxton. England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities and Challenges (Hardcover)
This book provides a very clear, simple difinition of Organizational Behavior. The subheadings and bold words make it easy to understand what is necessary for comprehension. Also the current issues and up to date examples make it easy for the reader to engage in the material at hand. However, the books multiple use of models can be somewhat confusing. I also feel that the author uses over-detailed deffinitions of words that could be much easier defined. The chapters are somewhat lengthy and need to be more concise. The review sessions at the end of each chapter were very helpful and porvided good key's to what was neccessary for retention. If anyone doesn't know what Organizational Behavior is they should definaltely check out this book!

This book provides a very simple and clear layout of Organizational Behavior. The headings and bold words make it easy to understand what is important and necessary for comprehension. The current issues and real life examples also make this book user friendly. However, the multiple use of models in this book can be somewhat confusing. The chapters are somewhat lengthy packing a lot of informatin in. I also feel that this book gives over-detailed definitions of words that can be much simpler defined. Overall this book does a good job of engaging the reader in the material at hand. The review sessions at the end of each chapter were very helpful and a definate bonus to help the reader learn necessary information. If anyone is unclear of what organizational behavoir is then they sould deffinately check out this book.

Organizational Behavior,

This review is from: Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities and Challenges (Hardcover)
I thought this book was a very useful resource for many of my business classes. It applied many different disciplines to the study of organizations. I also was pleased in the format of the book. It was easy to read as the most important definitions were outlined on the margins. The examples used through the text, especially real business applications, were useful. I felt this book was up to date, especially in its website addresses to many useful organizations and data bases. However, many of the same business applications were used in repition throughout the book. This was a minor problem due to the direction for additional applications in references to internet sites. Overall I was pleased.

"Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities, and Challenges" is a great book for anyone studying the field of management! It is very easy to follow and understand. The use of real world examples paints a clear picture of how concepts studied are truely applicable to future endevors!! I appreciated how well organized the chapters were. The main concepts are clearly outlined, which I found to be extremely helpful! One thing I always find helpful is the use of drawings and diagrams and this book has plenty. Most all concepts that could be illustrated through the use visuals are, and this provides multiple opportunites to clearly understand the concepts! I found this book to be very easy and fast reading!! All in all I found this book to be a very useful text in the studies of Organizational Behavior!!

Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities, &Challenges,
By Andrea (Harlaxton, England USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Organizational Behavior: Foundations, Realities and Challenges (Hardcover)
This book is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to learn more about Organizational Behavior. The content is very informative with many examples and diagrams. The chapters begin with a current-day example that the reader can relate to. Once the chapters are finished, the book goes back to the example from the very beginning and recaps. Most books don't do this. They just begin with an example and never go back to it. What I also found effective was the list of things that you should know by the time you are finished reading the chapters. I found this very helpful when reviewing for an exam. Also, the terms in the page margins helped to show what is key to remember from the chapters. There are a number of questions at the end of the chapters also. This was another way to study for exams and review the subject matter. The diagrams and challenges throughout the book also helped me to relate the material to myself. Therefore, giving me a better understanding of the material I was reading and studying. This is an excellent book and I would definately recommend it for future students learning about Organizational Behavior.
