Solid and entertaining text with some sacrifices in content,
By JJD (NJ, United States) - See all my reviews My only criticism is that several topics that are common to most other OB books are oddly absent, or glossed over, in this textbook. There is little content on the theory of the organization or the history of OB, careers, work identity, emotions (which are just wrapped up in the book's coverage of satisfaction), diversity, or organizational change/development. These topics may not have fit in the book's overarching model, but instructors who want to talk about these topics, like I do, will need to find supplmental readings.

Well, I have to read this book for school, and I've only read the first two chapters. However, as textbooks go, this is an easy read. The sections are relatively small so you're not reading on the same topic for hours. Also, the text is broken up nicely with real-life examples, tables, and charts to add some interesting bits & pieces. Even if not required to read it,this book provides insight in an interesting way, and would be beneficial to managers who want to improve their workplace.

Maintains Interest,

This is a good textbook. It keeps things interesting by having real world examples, statistics, etc. THey also use entertainment (TV shows and such) to illustrate points in the books as well.

This book offers a well-written, accessible, and engaging format to learning organizational behavior -- for undergraduate and graduate students alike. While some books sacrifice clarity for density, the authors here did a great job keeping the audience in mind by relating OB principles to popular culture and to readers. Self assessments facilitate readers to apply the lessons to their past experiences, which reinforces the main point that effective OB practices lead to greater productivity and better companies.

Before I finally got this book I went through so much crap. When the book was supposed to arrive I got told that my order was cancelled and I should be receiving my money soon, then when we tried again it got sent to the wrong address. It was a headache getting this book finally. This wasn't the sellers fault however
