5.0 out of 5 stars Used the text in Grad School
This book served as a supplemental text for my Organizational Behavior class in graduate school. It paralled the assigned text (Steven McShane and Mary Von Glinow) but the advantage of this text was that it added a different interpretation of the same topics; of course that broaded my understanding of the topic. I found that in Grad School often times a second text will...

Of course the concept are always interesting but these guys thing that using big words and using them poorly makes them seem smarter

"effective leaders will, over time, demonstrate effectiveness by being effective" And much, much more fascinating writing.

I would highly recommend finding another book

5.0 out of 5 stars Used the text in Grad School, January 27, 2012
This review is from: Organizational Behavior (Hardcover)
This book served as a supplemental text for my Organizational Behavior class in graduate school. It paralled the assigned text (Steven McShane and Mary Von Glinow) but the advantage of this text was that it added a different interpretation of the same topics; of course that broaded my understanding of the topic. I found that in Grad School often times a second text will clarify new topics that can be difficult to synthesize with just one text.
Highly Recommended.
By the way, my Master's Diploma from Northern Arizona University states "With Distinction"

NOTE: Many of the negative reviews might be unreliable and from individuals who have difficulty with concepts new to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best only gets better, September 2, 2009

This is an excellent text that I've been using off and on since about the 3rd edition at a number of different universities. The author continues to add more relevant case studies and examples and updates theory whenever it becomes necessary. The book is easy to read and full of useful information. The text is easy to adapt to your program or students' particular needs.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book and good deal from drakesbook, July 29, 2009

I bought this book (used) from drakesbook for only around $40 for my MBA class and it is a pretty good deal (looks like a new book). It's too expensive if you buy a new one though.
This is a pretty good book with traditional theories, emerging issues and case studies. This book is actually not only valuable for my class but also effective apply in real life, in my organization and my management issues, on a daily basis.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great School Book, May 4, 2009
This review is from: Organizational Behavior (Hardcover)
We had to read this book for our Organizational Behavior class at my graduate school. It was really easy to understand and had a lot of good information in it that not only pertains to organizations, but people in general. This would be a good book to use for a management class or even as a book on the side. It is very interesting and is not dryly written. It is a bit expensive to buy at the moment-but would be worth it for the information that you can find in it. If your library has it, you may be able to just pick it up. It is a bit long for one or two sittings, but it is enjoyable. The author uses easy to understand examples and does not seem to be bias.
Good read!

5.0 out of 5 stars great book... bad service, February 7, 2009
This review is from: Organizational Behavior (Hardcover)
It took me three weeks to get this book. I had to go two weeks of class without the book and it was ridiculous. If you order from these guys, just make sure you have a substantial amount of time before you need it.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is a joke, July 13, 2009
This review is from: Organizational Behavior (Hardcover)
Only reason I had to buy it becuase it was required by my university. I have read much better books online for free. Also you may have figured it out that it is way overpriced. Like any other text book that your university makes you buy, even when you can get much better books much cheaper.
