Husband Loves it!,

I purchased this fishing pole rack for my husband for Valentinesday and he loves it. It matches my cherry hardwood floors perfectly eventhough is says it's walnut...it's very sturdy and well made. I would like to note that if you plan on putting poles with the reels on them in the rack it greatly reduces the amount of poles it will hold. We can only fit 8 rods and reels in the rack but that's fine with us. I guess you could put them in sideways but it wouldn't look as nice. All in all we are really impressed!

not suitable for all rods,
This review is from: Organized Fishing 16 Capacity Solid Wood Rod Rack (Sports)
For rods with 24" or longer handle, you cannot fit in this rod holders. Your rods have to sit on the floor and the clip may not be big enough to hold your rod.

Received my (made in China) Wood Rod Rack on Thanksgiving Day (bless those UPS drivers) and proceeded to assemble it while watching football... (I was going to order a similar rack from West Marine for $89.00 (1/2 off price) until I saw this one. I noticed some reviews here that were complaining of the "cheap Pine wood" used, but decided to order and return it, should it really suck).Well, the first thing you MUST DO before starting assembly is check how all your pilot holes line up with each piece you need to attach it to. Almost all my pilot holes weren't drilled correctly, so they wouldn't align with the other holes; plus you need to go one drill-bit size bigger on the holes the screws are screwed into. The soft pine will split when you try and screw the screws into the holes that are pre-drilled! (The screws are too big for the pilot holes). The wood dowels used to center each piece during assembly and the wood plugs that are used to cover the screws are too small for the holes the factory pre-drilled... (they don't fit snug in the hole, so someone used too big a drill-bit when drilling these holes!) Hilarious! They still work, a bit sloppy... but no quality control on all counts! All in all, it will get my fishing rods organised & off the garage floor, so I guess it was worth the money, but check all the holes for alignment prior to assembly! Happy Turkey Day!
