4.0 out of 5 stars Looks great on wall, but brackets were installed upside-down
The rack looks and feels solid, and the stain is applied evenly: a real value for the price. But I had 1 problem with the installation.

I mounted the rack in drywall in 20 minutes with a cordless drill, a level, 4 wall anchors (not included), and 4 screws (included). Each rack has 2 recessed mounting brackets, and each bracket has a wide slot for the screw...

3.0 out of 5 stars some big rod wont fit
the rod rack looks nice but will not fit some of my bigger rods. The dia. of the circle openning is a bit too small. Salt water fishing rod will not fit due to its rubber cap at the end. Hope this help.

The rack looks and feels solid, and the stain is applied evenly: a real value for the price. But I had 1 problem with the installation.

I mounted the rack in drywall in 20 minutes with a cordless drill, a level, 4 wall anchors (not included), and 4 screws (included). Each rack has 2 recessed mounting brackets, and each bracket has a wide slot for the screw head to pass through and a narrow groove that the screw slides through until it hits bottom. To mount a rack, the brackets are placed over the screw heads, the screw heads are passed through the large slots, and then lowered until they stop. The end result is a flush mount with no visible hardware. The problem I had was with the rack with the cutouts for the rod tips: its brackets were upside-down. If I installed it as is, the cutouts for the rod tips would have been facing down, causing the rod tips to fall out of the bottom of the rack once mounted. I had to unscrew the 4 screws holding the brackets, rotate the brackets 180 degrees, and refasten them. This seems a careless mistake that cost me time and weakened the mount. However, I will buy another one if my collection gets bigger.
