I've presented "Getting Started" teacher workshops and have had to assemble a list of useful info from a variety of teacher resources. However, this book is so comprehensive and user friendly that I suggest this as THE starting point for all early career teachers before moving on to other resources. It's also great for veteran teachers who want a fresh look at how to organize the classroom.

This product led me to believe it was appropriate for grades K-8, unfortunatley this is not so. I am a middle school teacher and found this book only to be appropriate for grades K-5, but it focuses on the primary grades. If you teach above fourth grade, don't buy it.

I focus mostly on matters not elaborated by the other reviewers. This book lists several characteristics of children of each of the elementary grades (K through 8), ideas for positive rewards for children of different ages, the deployment of classroom centers, methods of filing important information, indoor and outdoor games, websites for teachers, and much more. As an experienced educator, I tend to agree with the reviewer who suggests that this book is more applicable to the teaching of younger grades than older ones.

This book has helped me to set up my first 3rd grade classroom, make sure I have the materials I will need for the coming year, and has some helpful reproducibles for use throughout the year. I recommend this book to new teachers - it is comforting to have!

This is a fabulous book for new teachers. It gives a variety of check off list and things to consider when setting up your classroom for the first time. It is a short and simple read, gives quick tips and ideas.

This is my 4th year as a kindergarten teacher and the tips and guides in this book fits all my needs! Every page is loaded with helpful ideas applicable to any grade level regardless of demographics for your area!

There are so many helpful hints and ideas in the book. I plan on using it next year when I set up my classroom and all year through with all the great ideas!

The best money ever spent! As a new teacher, this is the most helpful tool I bought this year. Simple and practical ideas for a teacher who needed help with setting up the classroom.

I think this is an excellent resource for new teachers, self-contained classrooms and early elementary. It had some great stuff, but a lot of it did not apply well to my subject or upper elementary grade level. There is some good stuff, just a lot that that was not applicable for my classroom.

Great ideas and blackline masters for organizing a classroom. I love the icons for the writing process!
