5.0 out of 5 stars Groundbreaking in conveying the essence of Hahnemann.
I found this to be one of the most comprehensive treatments of Samuel Hahnemann's groundbreaking work. It makes his masterpiece easily accessible even to a novice like me and offers great insight into the original German text. The glossary and index are indispensible additions. 2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting from a historical perspective
I've had numerous health problems over the years that are somewhat off the beaten track, and as a result I ran across a practitioner of Heilkunst. This is their clinical bible. When I found this practitioner unwilling to reveal exactly what it was they were supplying in the way of a remedy, unlike other practitioners of natural medicine who will tell you what supplements...

I found this to be one of the most comprehensive treatments of Samuel Hahnemann's groundbreaking work. It makes his masterpiece easily accessible even to a novice like me and offers great insight into the original German text. The glossary and index are indispensible additions. The effort Decker put forth in translating the original demonstrates a level of intellecual integrity and precision that even I can recognize. O'Reilly's editorial and organizational prowess is unmatched. Hahnemann would be greatly pleased by their reverant treatment of his work. I would highly recommend this book to anyone interested in homeopathy or alternative medicine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Required Textbook for students of the Profession, April 10, 2005
This review is from: Organon of the Medical Art (Paperback)
The Organon of the Medical Art, O'Reilly edition has become required reading at all homeopathic colleges around the world. This edition is clear and it resolves many amibiguities and errors that were present in previous editions that were based on faulty translations.

Some parts of previous editions were impossible to comprehend. O'Reilly's edition makes the book much more accessible, and easier to comprehend.

This particular edition is based on a completely new translation by Stephen Decker, a scholar, and expert on Hahnemann and the period in which Hahnemann lived. Dr. O"Reilly is an accomplished scholar, homeopath and homeopathic historian.

Homeopaths cannot learn to practice without reading and studying this essential and brilliant text.

This is a terrific book for those interested in a serious study of Homeopathy and comparative medicine. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The once and future science of Homeopathy, November 3, 2001
By A Customer
I frequently return from visits to the family physician with the vague feeling that I am dealing with a very peculiar form of healing. There seems to be little sense of "the ankle bone being connected to the knee bone" in modern medicine. Millions of people have registered their opinions in this regard by visiting alternative medical practictioners. But why does alternative medicine work? What are the dynamics of its very real affects? How does the science of Homeopathy work?

Wenda O'Reilly has given us the definitive translation of the homeopathic bible, The Organon of the Medical Art and a handle on the new metaphysics that needs to be engaged for medicine to become the healing art not just of malfunction but of health. All public health officials and anyone interested in medicine should read this book. This is science rendered into beauty by art.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must" for any student of homeopathy!, April 18, 2005
This review is from: Organon of the Medical Art (Paperback)
The Organon is essentially the "bible" of homeopathy. Although it was written nearly 200 years ago, it still defines what homeopathy is and what homeopathic practice is all about. That's why the Organon is required reading for all serious students of homeopathy, and most practitioners refer to it on a regular basis as well.

O'Reilly's translation of the Organon is the best and most accessible of them all. It brings the book to life! All of the older translations have pretty much been relegated to the backburner since this one came out. If you are seriously interested in homeopathy, this book is a must-have. I refer to it on a regular basis in my own work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steven Decker is a genius, September 9, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Organon of the Medical Art (Paperback)
and his translation of the Organon has taken homeopathy and homeopathic prescribing light-years ahead in this work of art, edited by O'Reilly.

After a century or two of misunderstandings of Hahnemann's writings, at last there is a glimpse of Hahnemann's genial gift to mankind. I await further illumination of this medical system from Mr. Decker!

By A Customer
This review is from: Organon of the Medical Art (Paperback)
I did not truly understand homeopathy until I read this new translation, this beautifully and wisely edited edition. The insights I gained reading it I can only liken to religious revelations. I now have an understanding of healing and cure that will guide me for the rest of my life. O'Reilly and Decker have taken a dense work of absolute genius and made it accessible to anyone who wants to understand the meaning of health and the gift of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Organon, March 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a text book used for Homeopathy students. Not a light read but a necessity for those learning Homeopathy. It was cheaper from Amazon than from other places I normally buy my books. If you are trying to learn homeopathy on your own this is not a book to do that with. Buy starter books for home use and read the basic philosophy first. Then consider taking a couple classes online. Homeopathy as a profession takes a long time but is fascinating nevertheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars makes total sense, May 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Organon of the Medical Art (Paperback)
This book is amazing! It is clearly a work of genius! Written in a clear and precise way, explaining the Homeopathic method of treatment and cure. Any student of Homeopathy needs to read it, and any one interested in understanding what Homeopathic medicine is all about, should read it also.
It is filled full of insightful observations of the human condition, though interesting it's not a book to be read like a airport novel, but slowly pondering it's content.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ultimate homeopathic HOW TO book from the source, January 11, 2008
This review is from: Organon of the Medical Art (Paperback)
As a graduate of a four year homeopathic post graduate school I can tell you no other book is more often reread by the well trained homeopath than the Organon of Medicine by homeopathy's founder and furturistic thinker: Dr. Samuel Hahnemann. MANY are the translations I have struggled through. Organon of the Medical Arts is THE translation to place between your hands in order to practice classical homeopathy as it was intended. This book is so well translated from German, so thorough, so DIGESTABLE that there is much to apply with much less struggle to Understand.
Every serious student of homeopathy and every practioner will come to own this translation. Every mind, healthy enough to be Open will too!
