Book Description

January 1, 2007
A concise handbook describing the original discovery of the orgone energy by Dr. Wilhelm Reich, as well as methods for constructing and safely using orgone energy devices, including the author's own considerable experience on the matter. With a Foreword by Dr. Eva Reich, the daughter of Wilhelm Reich, and an Appendix by two German physicians, from their own university thesis, a double-blind and controlled experiment validating the physiological effects of the orgone accumulator. Includes many photos and illustrations, including a cover photo of an astronaut walking on the moon, with a clearly-visible blue-glowing orgone energy field. This is a 2007 Revised Edition with a new Appendix containing additional experimental details over prior printings, and a revised Bibliography and Resources section. A 'must-have' book for the serious researcher, or anyone seeking clarity and facts about Wilhelm Reich, or substantive applications of 'subtle energy', which DeMeo shows, is 'not so subtle' if you know what to look for.

About the Author

James DeMeo, Ph.D., has been researching the subject of Wilhelm Reich's biophysical discoveries since 1970. Director of the Orgone Biophysical Research Lab in Ashland, Oregon, and a graduate of the University of Kansas, and formerly on the faculty of geography at several leading American universities, Dr. DeMeo is one of the world's foremost authorities on the scientific issues related to Dr. Reich's discoveries. He has replicated many of Reich's original and controversial experiments, and made personal contact and interviews with numerous medical practitioners in the USA and Europe for the development of this book. DeMeo is author also of 'Saharasia', which subjected Reich's sex-economic theories to a rigorous cross-cultural evaluation, and editor or co-editor of 'On Wilhelm Reich and Orgonomy', 'Heretic's Notebook', and the German language volume 'Nach Reich'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction into Reich and orgone energy, June 21, 2005
This review is from: The Orgone Accumulator Handbook: Construction Plans Experimental Use and Protection Against Toxic Energy (Paperback)
This book provides an excellent introduction into the life and work of Wilhelm Reich and is a must-read for everybody who wants to know more about the life energy he called orgone and his controversial discovery, the orgone energy accumulator.

A note of correction to the review of Mr. Purcell: Reich NEVER worked on any "atomic bomb development", neither in Nazi Germany nor anywhere else. He fled Germany in 1933 after Hitler came to power - read his book "The Mass Psychology of Fascism" if you want to know why - going first to Skandinavia and coming to the US in 1939. He built his own independent research facility in Rangeley, Maine - now the Wilhelm Reich Museum - and never worked for any government agency (another cracy allegation flying around on the internet is that he was somehow involved with the "Montauk Project", which is also absolute nonsense). In the 1950's, when everybody thought a nuclear strike by the Soviet Union was imminent, he was actually hoping to find a way to counteract radiation sickness with orgone energy, but could never complete his work because the FDA prosecuted him for using the orgone accumulator to heal his patients. He died in prison in 1957.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand construction of orgone devices, April 20, 1998
This review is from: The Orgone Accumulator Handbook: Construction Plans Experimental Use and Protection Against Toxic Energy (Paperback)
This slim volume presents a fairly straightforward explanation of what "orgone theory" is, and provides easy-to-understand construction directions. Skeptic and shaman alike will find simple projects to try for themselves. Would make an ideal science fair project!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Orgone Explained At Last!, May 18, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Orgone Accumulator Handbook: Construction Plans Experimental Use and Protection Against Toxic Energy (Paperback)
An easy-to-read book containing very usable no-nonsense information on exactly what the 'orgone' is and how to make use of it. Brief synopses of theories and contemporary research are simply stated. Constuction plans for inexpensive ORACS as well as for draw buckets, and bion packs are included. An excellent 'first book' for anyone interested in Dr. Reich's life work and Orgonomy in general. Also contains an extensive Bilbliography and many references for further information.
