Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

In my opinion, this collection is one of the most stunning classic watches that Orient has to offer. It has a very clean and simple design but looks sophisticated. What I love most about this watch is the 3-tone design on the surface of the dial (face). The textures of the inner dial, as well as the outer dial, complement well with the texture of the sub-dials.

The dial has many attributes that make this watch into a successful timepiece. Features such as the date indicator (located at the 6 o’clock position,) the day sub-dial (located near the 2 o’clock position,) and the 24-hour sub-dial makes you value such a work of art.

If you want to adjust the date, you must first loosen the crown (time-setting knob) located at the 4 o’clock position. You will notice that there are 2 levels to the crown. The first level adjusts the date indicator, while the second level adjusts the time and the date of week. The hour and minute hands are both luminescent so you may view the time in the dark. When adjusting the time, you will see that the 24-hour sub-dial corresponds with the movement of the hour hand.

The crown comes with the engraved Orient logo and shoulders for protection. This automatic watch runs on the power stored within the spring of the watch. As the owner wears the watch, the spring naturally stores power. This watch is also water-resistant for up to 50 meters.

Bands and clasps are important aspects to a watch as they can provide a nice feel and should compliment the rest of the watch’s vibrant design. For this watch, the band is engineered to focus on comfort. The metal band comes with both matte and finished links. This provides a two-toned shine to the rest of the watch.

Next to the dial, you will see that the first two links are tapered followed by untapered links. The deployment clasp for this collection adds security so that the watch does not come off unintentionally. The three dial-color variations to this watch come in: black, navy blue, or white.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful with High Quality, September 15, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Orient Men's CET05001W Multi-Eyes White Automatic Watch (Watch)
I have had this watch about a month. My wife thinks it is the most beautiful watch in my collection. My modest collection includes some high dollar name Swiss brands and this watch is in the same league.

The picture does not do it justice. The sunburst patterns on the dial really pop when the light hits them. I've only seen such patterns on the most expensive Swiss watches. The domed crystal magnifies the face, making it easy to read. The watch band is comfortable and not a hair puller. The case size is just right for my 7 inch wrist. It is all stainless steel and the case, dial and band are extremely high quality. Considering Orient makes its own movements and this one is so smooth and quiet, the watch is a diamond-in-the-rough.

It is very accurate for a mechanical watch. It's maybe a few seconds off in a week. Orient watches have a reputation of dependability and longevity and I intend to test that reputation. Operation is straighforward. You advance the 24 hour and day dials by turning the hour hand through the 24 hour cycle. It has a quick-change date, using the first click of the crown. It has probably a 40 hour power reserve, since it is still running in the box the afternoon of the following day when I put it up. It doesn't take much wrist motion to wind it. I'd rate it a 5 with no equivocation. Buy it; you'll love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A watch that holds your attention, August 7, 2009

This review is from: Orient Men's CET05001W Multi-Eyes White Automatic Watch (Watch)
A couple of things not in the specs: the mineral glass is domed--this gives it a magnifying effect when seen at an angle and makes it seem a little old school compared to a sleek flat crystal. At first I didn't like it, but, combined with the fancy dial work, it is one of the things that makes it feel elegant. Also, per Joey at Orient watches, the actual width--including the crown--is 39mm. It's not as large a watch as the Amazon specs suggest. Again, at first I thought it was a touch too small, but any larger and it becomes one of those chunky, sporty pieces. I agree with a reviewer at another site who commented that this watch has an identity crisis in that the dial is really elegant and the size is smaller like a dress watch, but the bracelet and overall feel suggest a more casual piece. It seems too fancy to be casual and too hip to be dressy. I think that this might be the watch's strength, though: it keeps your attention by defying easy categorization. Whatever you conclude, it's an unusual and attractive watch, feels very high quality on your wrist, and keeps good time. Check out google images--a few owners have posted pics that are more accurate than the stock photo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very elegant and classy, January 25, 2008
By
This is my first Orient and I'm very impressed. After reading about the brand online I can see why these watches are very popular worldwide. The fact that the brand is not mainstream in the U.S. makes owning one unique.
The CET05001W is beautiful I wear mine with a 20mm brown leather aviator strap with white stitching and the band makes the watch look like a 1940's dress watch. The hands are a very handsome dark blue and the face is stunning. The applied polished silver indicies catch the light and make the face look like a jewel.
The movement is smooth as silk and accuracy in the 1 month I've owned it has been excellent. It loses only 3-5 sec a day. I store the watch either crown up or down when not wearing it since I read that this helps maintain accuracy. From what I read on watch forums regarding the longevity of Orient automatic watches I expect that I'll be enjoying this watch for a very long time with minimal to no maintenance required.
For the price of this watch it's a real steal. It Looks like a real luxury item.
