First Orient, very pleased,

Ok, just picked it up. It was running from the box (guess was wound due to transport). Only minor dislike is color of band. Would have liked it a bit darker brown. May replace it later on. VERY quiet, almost no ticking (or I'm going deaf).
Rotor is also quiet. Like the dial color and the crystal. Good finish. Dial is a greyish black, nice! Overall, happy!

This is a good watch. It has an attractive face, similar to a Rolex Datejust. I like the full name display of the day of the week. It gains or loses about 3 seconds per day which is pretty good for a self-winding watch. It benefits from being put away at night resting on its edge. It has no manual wind feature. You shake it back and forth a few times to start it if it has stopped. The only think I would criticize about it is the band, not very attractive in my opinion. I replaced it with a 19 mm band cordovan leather band from another watch, which improved the appearance considerably.

This is my first automatic watch. I am very happy with it. I had heard good things about Orient, this watch looked attractive, and the price very reasonable. So I went for it and am very happy -- it's a beautiful looking watch (the picture is accurate; at first I didn't like the relatively light colored alligator leather band, but now I do). I was concerned about automatic watches running fast or slow, but so far it's been very accurate, maybe just picking up a few seconds (I've had it for a week). Overall highly recommended for an affordable self-winding watch, great for the office and every day.

This Orient is a good and nice watch, very confortable and very pretty, too. I had a little problem with the band, but i replaced it and now I'm very satisfied with my Orient watch. Was a good purchase!!! Very recommendable!

Fine Watch, 21 Jewel's like European makers, very pleased. There is another issue that is NOT related to this watch so much as it is to the method of propulsion; I have noticed these "Watch-Winders" for sale that are designed for these types of Watches. (Self Winding, Automatic, Kinetic, ALL THE SAME) I recall my father wearing one when he came back from Vietnam in 1966, it was a Seiko, and all Dad had to do in order to keep the watch ticking was to turn his wrist back AND forth gently, rhythmically to the faint sound of the winding mechanism a one minute task basically.
Now, about the befuddling contraption known as the the "watch winder," and the question about whether this is truly a necessary accessory? The Self-Winding, Automatic, Kinetically marketed wrist-worn time-piece was designed with the individual in mind "WHO purchases one of these ticking marvel's because of their design. They buy this watch SPECIFICALLY because of it's winding mechanism, these buyer's appreciate the fine, minute, details inside kinetic watches with all of the mechanical ingenuity that goes into designing, then synchronizing those little gears that crunch the time-out to within a single SECOND per calender year. If, one CANNOT or DOES NOT get that about these watches then DON'T buy the Automatic watch AND silly WINDER, NO, you need to run out there buy a watch with an Energizer Bunny inside Of it, OR just stay with the current stem winder!

Don't bother. ORIENTWATCHUSA.COM aka PURI-TIME, INC are the importers for Orient watches into the US. They are bad news. Honor a warranty? Forget it. Once they get your money it's their money. Thankfully the product is OK. Seiko are a major shareholder. Just don't expect too much from Orient if you do need help. There are really good companies with good product and good ethics. Unfortunately Orient are not one of them.
