This review is from: Orient Men's CFT00001W Power Reserve Semi-Skeleton White Automatic Watch (Watch)
This is an automatic watch, which means that it doesn't have a battery and is powered by a spring which is wound through the movement of your hand while you wear it. It features a 40 hour power reserve so you ought to either wear it at least every other day or keep it on a winder if you don't want it to stop.
The glass is sapphire crystal which is as scratch resistant as you can get, but could be shattered if you were to hit it hard enough. I've never actually seen this happen before, but it's a possibility. The movement is one of the in-house movements made by Orient and so far has proven to be very accurate (it's gained about 10 seconds after its first week) though it is missing one or two usefull features. This is a non-hacking movement, which means the second hand does not stop when you set it, which makes setting it exactly to another timepiece hard. I've received many compliments with it and have worn it with jeans and a t-shirt and with a suit without feeling like it was out of place in either setting. Be sure to check out the review of the cft00004b on youtube. All told this was a good purchase. *Edit* Coming up on a year later, the only complaint I've had is that the strap has needed to be replaced. The glue that held the leather to a metal insert came loose, and though I re-glued it for a while the repair did not last. However, this isn't entirely unexpected as leather watch bands don't last forever and eventually need replacing. I've also found that if you gently put backward pressure on the knob as you are setting the time you can make the second hand stay put long enough to sync it up, though I'm not sure I'd even worry about it. Regarding the slide rule, I've found that it isn't terribly precise, but it's good enough for calculating tips or doing rough estimation.

Orient has definetly out done themselves with the semi-skeletons. The color options are a good choice and the band allows for great comfort and Maneuvrability. A lot of other watches irritate the skin and make it hard to perform certain tasks while wearing them. Plus the ability to see the inner workings of the watch is a great touch. This is a well crafted time piece.
