Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

This series of watches is greatly inspired by the motorcycles of the 50’s. At the time, motorcycles were valued for their sense of style and individualism. Likewise, this collection offers a more stylistic approach as well as a sense of freedom from conformity. Notice how this watch has its unique designs on the dial such as the hour indicators on the crystal glass instead of the surface of the dial. This makes it the perfect watch for those individuals who value uniqueness in quality and taste.

Orient’s retro collection’s best attribute is the design of the dial. Notice how this watch follows the motif of motorcycles in the industrial age. Not only does this semi-skeleton allow for the owner to see the motion of the balance wheel, but it also shows the stem as well.

Both the power reserve indicator (located on the 12 O’clock indicator) as wells the second hand (located on the 6 O’clock indicator) demonstrates the look of a speedometer of a motorcycle. A power reserve indicator indicates how much power is left in the springs of a watch. Another interesting attribute to the dial is the luminescent hour indicators, hour hand, and minute hand.

When looking at the side of the watch, you will notice the contours running around the bezel (the ring of the watch) and the hexagonal shaped crown (a time-setting piece on the side of the watch). The crown is a screw down which means that it prevents water from entering the case. This watch also has an exhibition caseback so that the owner is able to view the mechanics of the watch through the glass. Both the exhibition caseback and the bezel are finished metals. However, the case comes in matte finish.

The band for this watch comes in solid stainless steel. One of the more interesting features of this metal band is the barrels on the side that separate the links. This characteristic marks a sportier look to the collection. Last but not least is the clasp. You will notice that the clasp is a deployment clasp, which prevents the watch from coming off inadvertently. There are 3 different variations to this watch. All of the difference lies in the color of the dial, which are: yellow, navy blue, and black.

The Orient Story
The Orient Story Orient Watch was formally established in July 13th, 1950 in Tokyo. Orient Watch has focused on mechanical watch making, specializing in self-winding watches using only our in-house movements. 4.0 out of 5 stars This Watch is an Eye-Catcher!, February 24, 2011

This review is from: Orient Men's YFH03002M Star Retro-Future Yellow Automatic Watch (Watch)
I've been wearing my new Orient Star for a few days now, and I have to say that more than just about any other watch in my collection, it is getting noticed. Wearability seems to be good, band is comfortable and very nice looking. Ships in an elegant black-lacquered Orient Star box, which is cradled inside of a bit cheap-looking paperboard outer box.

The watch itself is stunning. Not really fair to call it yellow, as the interior bezel and sub dials are actually more of a coppery/golden color than yellow. The open heart design and see-through case back are beautiful and the lapis-colored sword hands of the watch really pop in natural sunlight.

At its current price, I feel that the Orient YFH03002M is one of the best automatic watch values out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Orient Men's YFH03002M Star Retro-Future Watch, February 1, 2011

This review is from: Orient Men's YFH03002M Star Retro-Future Yellow Automatic Watch (Watch)
What an absolutely gorgeous watch. This watch is thick and meaty. Thick eye catching bracelet, thoughtfully crafted watch, artistic flare everywhere. Came packaged in an elegant two part, box in a box, all parts completely protected against scratching. When I pulled it out I was immediately impressed by the weight and obvious quality of the work. Started peeling off the protective covering, part by part, and was excited with each newly revealed element. The case has a wonderful interplay between extreme gloss and texture. The bracelet continues this theme with interplay between two parallel glossy lines running on top of a field of textured stainless. This is my second Orient Watch, the other being an everyday watch, and I have been so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of both, but this one has the extras and extreme looks that I expected of an Orient Star. Love the tint of orange in the dial, with the creamy white highlights, reminds me of a sunny day every time I look at it. Incredible watch, very happy about the purchase, and am looking forward to showing it off on my wrist for many days to come.
