I've been wearing my new Orient Star for a few days now, and I have to say that more than just about any other watch in my collection, it is getting noticed. Wearability seems to be good, band is comfortable and very nice looking. Ships in an elegant black-lacquered Orient Star box, which is cradled inside of a bit cheap-looking paperboard outer box.

The watch itself is stunning. Not really fair to call it yellow, as the interior bezel and sub dials are actually more of a coppery/golden color than yellow. The open heart design and see-through case back are beautiful and the lapis-colored sword hands of the watch really pop in natural sunlight.

At its current price, I feel that the Orient YFH03002M is one of the best automatic watch values out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Orient Men's YFH03002M Star Retro-Future Watch, February 1, 2011

What an absolutely gorgeous watch. This watch is thick and meaty. Thick eye catching bracelet, thoughtfully crafted watch, artistic flare everywhere. Came packaged in an elegant two part, box in a box, all parts completely protected against scratching. When I pulled it out I was immediately impressed by the weight and obvious quality of the work. Started peeling off the protective covering, part by part, and was excited with each newly revealed element. The case has a wonderful interplay between extreme gloss and texture. The bracelet continues this theme with interplay between two parallel glossy lines running on top of a field of textured stainless. This is my second Orient Watch, the other being an everyday watch, and I have been so impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of both, but this one has the extras and extreme looks that I expected of an Orient Star. Love the tint of orange in the dial, with the creamy white highlights, reminds me of a sunny day every time I look at it. Incredible watch, very happy about the purchase, and am looking forward to showing it off on my wrist for many days to come.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fine watch, lousy description and price, June 24, 2007

The Orient Star line is one of the higher quality Orient lines... though that's not to say it is the equivalent of a fine swiss watch. Orient is one of the oldest watchmakers in Japan and, unlike Seiko, Citizen, and others, never jumped on the quartz bandwagon in a big way. This Orient watch, like all the others in my collection is an automatic, self-winding mechanical movement. A pretty nice one from all accounts and not to be confused with cheap Chinese watches whether sourced from Hong Kong, Germany, or other confusing swiss-sounding companies. With Orient you get what you pay for,,, a solid, quality product. I felt compelled to write this review when I read the listing -- it is NOT a quartz movement and it SHOULD NOT sell for $900+ which is more than double the street price for this item. Buy this watch somewhere else for ~$400 and you can't go wrong.
