The spring handled massage mallets feature wooden handles that are 4" long and 5/8" thick. There is a rubber ball on the end of a 7" coil spring shaft. Overall length is a little over a foot, 12 1/2". Used alone, or in pairs, these are great for pounding away stress and soreness from tight muscles. The springy shafts make for a very lively massage action. These are particularly effective for self massage of the neck and shoulders. These backscratcher/massagers are cut from mature bamboo, and are very strong and sturdy. The handle is a comfortable handfilling 1 1/2" wide, and has a rubber ball attached for use as a massage mallet. Used alone, or in pairs, these are great for pounding away stress and soreness from tight muscles. The long handles on these make them easy to use on yourself or a partner. They are also top quality backscratchers, great for relieving hard to reach itches. Percussive massage is traditional across the Orient, as well as in Finland and Russia, where it is a part of their traditional sauna. Using mallets in massage can be very relaxing due to the rythmic nature of the treatment. It is also great for improving circulation. OK, so these don't look like much, but they do a great job. I tap on my neck with it while I am working, and I can honestly feel the muscles in my neck responding and loosening up. As an added bonus, you can scratch your back with it too. There really is not a good reason not to buy these. It's a great fill in when you are in between visits to the chiropractor of between does of pain pills. I keep mine right on my desk and use them all the time. They make no noise at all, don't require any cleaning or maintenance either.
