About two years ago, I finally decided to buy my first authentic, hand made (and very expensive?!) Oriental rug. So I visited a few local rug stores.... Having listened to the salesman's descriptions of different pieces and their history, and having gone through a few hundred selection, I realized this is a tough job for a rookie like me. First of all, the variety was amazing. So many colors, so many designs, and so many names I couldn't spell (or pronounce for that matter). And indeed, the price tags were the most amazing part of it all. So, I had to educate myself about Oriental rugs.
After a lot of Internet, library and sole searching I realized there is no simple answer to my dilemma. There are some books with a lot of technical info. There are some Web sites with a lot commercial info. But I couldn't find a source with a lot of selection variety, and reliable up-to-date information, where in the comfort of my own home, without the pressure of a salesman, I could choose what I want within my budget. I finally bought a piece, only to find out later that there are at least a hundred more pieces that I would have rather had instead of this one.
The idea of creating a catalogue was originated from a friend who is an interior designer, and was refined by a couple of rug experts/dealers (now my friends). It went through quite a few gyrations and evolution steps, but it is finally here....

Just Picture,

This CD contains ONLY PICTURES of Persian rugs with brief useless information (such as size, name, date, etc). It does not have any information that describes the rugs, specifically the types of knots or any other helpful information. It is not beneficial to anyone to buy this CD unless if he/she is seeking to only see pictures of Persian rugs. I wish I can return it!
