Oriental Sunrise combines shakuhachi and koto flutes with water sounds (a stream and rain) and bells and chimes to create a beautiful, flowing, well-balanced CD. In four parts, the transitions from one track to the next are smooth. The mood is relaxing and peaceful throughout. This CD is excellent for meditation or unobtrusive background music and for massage. It centers me when I'm working and is a favorite with many of my clients. I recommend it unreservedly.

This is my very favorite shakuhachi album and, in fact, one of my favorite albums of any genre. It is peaceful, contemplative, and avoids the discordant shrills that are sometimes a part of shakuhachi compositions. Highly recommended!

it was so nice to get some Zen music that didn't degenerate into piano and synthesizer fluff by the second song. I have been looking for something like this for my yoga sessions for over 2 years. This music stays traditional, and has a calming effect. Lovely transition between pieces! after awhile, the soothing music becomes a background murmur and allows me to focus upon meditation, writing, reading, etc.

A good friend let me borrow this CD and I was skeptical about it at first, but from the first listen I was carried away by the subtle serenity of it. The melodies are pure and calm, and the accompaniment of the natural sounds is just that - natural. It is very easy to transport oneself to another place while listening to this. I particularly like listening to it on Friday evenings to clear the stress of the week and prepare for the weekend.

This CD really delivers. I do not use it for meditation, instead I listen to it at work. I have it on in the background and I feel my mind relaxing and working more efficiently and calmy. I have two other Riley Lee CDs, but this one is the best.

I love this CD, it's beautifully produced. I listen to it while I do my yoga and also just to ground myself when I know my thoughts are going everywhere. I recommend it highly if you are looking for something to bring you back to where you are.

I love listening to this tape as I do my karate forms, and katas. It is so relaxing to listen to. Even when I have a stressful day from work I just pop it in. The best tape so far for me. I was first introduced to Riley Lee at a massage therapy establishment. Keep up the good work....

If you've ever felt the need to float away, to find that piece of music to carry your mind into a heavenly silence, this is the music. In some CDs, the solitary sounds can create an unsettled sense, a lonely longing for something unknown. In Riley Lee's CD, the solitary sounds fill you with their richness. Peace and tranquility envade your entire being.

Everytime I play this CD, it brings instant calm to the entire room making it very relaxing and peaceful. Clients are always commenting on how relaxed they feel when they are done with their treatments.

I enjoy listening to it in the background when I am working around the house. I feel more productive and uninterrupted in my thought processes.

A definite thumbs up.

I origionally owned this music on cassette and was so fond of it for its beauty and soothing quality. I used and enjoyed this music so much for my massage work that I had to locate the same music on CD.
