5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for all Sonata Arctica fans!
sure it's a bit pricey for 4 songs..one of which (Black Sheep) appears on their "Silence" cd, but you get three tracks you won't find anywhere else...an acostic and far better version of Mary-Lou, a 100% better version of Midler's Wind Beneath My Wings, and an Iron Maiden cover as well! (Die With Your Boots On)...I suppose because of the price it appeals to only the die...

3.0 out of 5 stars For the Sake of Completeness
I'm a serious SA fan, and I jumped at the chance to hear more of their covers and rareities. Fair notification for those looking at this album: this isn't precisely the pinnacle of SA's output. A few of the tracks appear elsewhere, and their cover of "Wind Beneath My Wings" -- while novel -- doesn't really sound like they brought much fresh to the party. The primary...

4.0 out of 5 stars Awsome EP!!!, November 22, 2001
This review is from: Orientation (Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
When I poped this CD into my player I knew from the very start that this was going to be a great CD!! All the songs on here are great Black Sheep from the Silence album and an acoustic version of mary-lou which sounds better than the original version even an Irom Maiden Cover!! But thats not all this cd also comes with the kicken music video Wolf and Raven in where some guy is running through the woods and finds a haunted house. The video has stunning special effects where the entire band is playing but they are all transperant ghosts!!! There is more as well on this CD not only do you get the music video but you also get a interview with 3 members of the band in where they talk a bit about the upcoming gig in japan and they ask them if they will try sushi when they go there hahaha. Overall this CD is awsome and definetly worth the price that amazon is asking for it. But I do have one complaint about this CD. Sonata has covered a Bet Midler song "Wind Beneath my Wings" I hate this song and I always will hate it. But there more good stuff on this CD than bad stuff so buy it its wirth the money if your a true sonata arctica fan you NEED this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars For True Sonata Arctica Fans!!!, September 6, 2005
This review is from: Orientation (Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
This is Sonata Arctica's second EP and it was released only in Japan because Sonata Arctica is very popular in Japan. Of course they are from Finland I like me. "Black Sheep" is the song released in Silence. "Mary-Lou" was released originally in "UnOpened" cd-single and in "Ecliptica" Japanese version as a bonus track. This version is acoustic and was released in "Last Drop Falls" single, just like the great Iron Maiden cover "Die with Your Boots on". "The Wind Beneath My Wings" is a Better Midler cover. I have heard the original one and it was quite sweet. This CD is full of great Sonata Arctica songs...a must for the true fans.

The primary reason to get this disc is for the acoustic version of "Mary Lou", one of SA's critical tracks about relationships and a great song in its original form. Some might prefer this version for the improved intelligibility of the lyrics and more introspective cadence. In any case, if you've got to devour all things Sonata, this is not a bad way to go. Otherwise, try snagging all the main albums first, and look at Takatalvi as the first option for EPs.
