This book is very friendly and easy to follow with clear written instructions and diagrams for models ranging from basic to intermediate. The author encourages the reader to experiment and use their own creativity and has included model samples from origami masters for inspiration. The book is not as all encompassing as title suggests but it is a wonderful foundational to intermediate course for anyone interested in origami.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clear and Well-thought-out, January 27, 2011
This review is from: Origami Bible (Paperback)
I have many origami books, but this one is different. First of all it gives a nice short history of origami mentioning all the milestones, especially the importance of Lillian Oppenheimer in developing origami in USA. It follows with a discussion and diagrams of the basic folds giving special hints as to how all the folds relate to each other. Suddenly you realise the logic of origami. Then it goes on to describe with very clear diagrams various animal, plant, mathematical, and artistic forms one can fold, as well as describing newer techniques such as paper wetting. As the reviewer above says, the book is not an in depth survey of all the origami creations you can fold, but it gives such a good grounding in origami, that those folds you thought were impossible....? Well reading this book will allow you to go back and successfully try again. Highly recommended.
