Book Description

Origami Chess (especially formatted for Kindle and other small devices) shows how to fold 20 models, all original designs by origami master John Montroll. You can fold all the chess pieces, tic-tac-toe pieces, and many chess boards. There are diagrams for the 1 x 1, 2 x 2, 3 x 3, 4 x 4, 5 x 5, 6 x 6, 7 x 7, and 8 x 8 chess boards. Each model is folded from a single square sheet. As a bonus, some math theory of origami chess boards is given. The models range from simple to complex. These fun projects demonstrate interesting concepts in origami.

5.0 out of 5 stars Origami for the Kindle September 1, 2010
I am an Origami enthusiast and own quite a few of John Montroll's physical books. He does a wonderful job of breaking down the folds in an easy to follow step by step approach. The Kindle version of this book is taken from his book "Origami Inside Out". He has done a great job in converting it to an ebook format. The drawings of the folds are clear and easy to follow even on the 6" Kindle screen. I look forward to buying his other books as he converts them to the ebook format.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for me July 15, 2011

Boy, unless your a master Origami folder I would not recommend this. It looks like fun but ....wow. Very complicated. I love Origami and thought I could do this one with out any problems. Especially when I love chess, I thought it would be fun. I guess I just wasn't cut out (no pun intended) for something like this. I'll stick to the simple stuff.

1.0 out of 5 stars What about a hardcopy edition? September 12, 2011
I wish there was a hardcopy edition, or something I can download and use without a kindle. I really resent kindle-exclusive editions.
