I was very excited to recieve this book but once I opened it I was a little dismayed by how difficult each "oragami" was. I was often unable to get much help from the reference photo due to the fact that the author chose such garish colours. All in all it is an interresting idea and once I figure out how to make a few things I think it will be a good creative resource.

This is a very good book if you are looking for decorative projects involving fabric folding. While all of the items are well done and the instructions are clear, the majority are presented more along the lines of art pieces, to be displayed. The ideas are well-presented and you could take any of them and easily adapt to your liking for whatever project you might be working on. "I never promised you a rose garden" pictured on the cover is really impressive and another fun one is "posies for rosie 2". Either of those could easily be enlarged and made into a quilt. You'll get alot of good ideas and folding tips.

Not so amazing...,

I bought this book hoping for something helpful to enhance my quilts, but the authors are too "artistic" for my humble needs... A lot of fabric to dye, fusible web to fuse and optical wall hangings...
Indeed there are some good new ideas, but all in all I'm a bit disappointed: not a single project to hold my breath and think "I'll do it right now!". Even the cover-project (by far the best of the book) was not-so-sparky-as-it-seems... I've already bought another book on origami fabric... hoping for the better...

Do NOT buy if you are not expert at origami,

My daughter loved origami books, and I enjoyed paper origami. This book was horribly frustrating. I tried the pattern on the cover. Instead of having step-by-step pictures, they refer to the directions for a different project on another page, which does not look like your stages. The pattern did not tell you which side should be up when you go from one step to another. I only found out after I had wasted my time. Rebecca Wat's Fantastic Fabric Folding is a much better book.
