So far, I am happy that I didn't visit Apple store for battery replacement.

As the other reviews have mentioned, this battery is a perfect fit original replacement battery for MBP laptops. Upon inspection, the battery has never been used and its cycle count shows 0 charges. The battery that received indicated that it was 1.9 years old using the battery health application. Lithium Polymer batteries, like this one are subject to aging that reduces their performance over time even if unused. So while this battery has not been used, I'm not sure that I'd call a 2 year old battery new. New Old Stock (NOS), would probably be a better description. Considering that this battery is half the price of what the Apple store charges, I think its a decent value for the money. If it lasts half as long as a "new" battery, I will have gotten what I paid for.

I had high expectations for a new battery to replace my 86% (4985 mAh), 471 cycles original Apple battery. It came as a new battery with 1 cycle listed. To give you an idea of my experience, here's my usage as noted by the coconutBattery app. It was a little strange and disheartening to see such wide fluctuations at first, especially after a week of usage.

Date Max. Capacity Cycles
3-5-14 98% (5665 mAh) 1
3-6-14 100% (5812 mAh) 1
3-6-14 99% (5704 mAh) 2
3-6-14 100% (5757 mAh) 2
3-7-14 94% (5346 mAh) 2
3-7-14 94% (5406 mAh) 2
3-7-14 95% (5464 mAh) 2
3-9-14 90% (5214 mAh) 3
3-9-14 91% (5260 mAh) 4
3-9-14 92% (5325 mAh) 4
3-10-14 93% (5371 mAh) 4
3-11-14 93% (5356 mAh) 4
3-11-14 92% (5335 mAh) 4

I don't remember my original battery dropping wattage this quickly, especially after a week, so I am a bit disappointed and surprised by my purchase. 3 stars.

***EDIT*** After about 9 months of usage, a few OS X operating systems upgrades later, I feel like I should update the only Amazon review I've ever written. The original review was written on a MacBook Pro 13" (early 2011) running Mountain Lion. Current review uses Yosemite. (I've heard operating system affects battery performance, so trying to account for all variables.) Using the same coconutBattery app:

Date: 12-17-14
Max Capacity: 89% (5135 mAh)
Cycles: 127

In terms of battery capacity, I'm almost back to where I started 9 months ago. However, since writing my review, the seller contacted me about my experience and offered to fully refund their battery despite it having been "used" for three weeks at that point.

Purchased this to replace my original A1322 in my 13" Macbook Pro which was giving me roughly two hours of life on a full charge. The battery arrived in a box that did not look at all like Apple packaging and the battery itself had extra barcode stickers all over it which had me raising my eyebrow.

I uninstalled my old battery and installed the new battery and performed a SMC reset and let the laptop charge till the battery reported 100%. After unplugging the laptop from the charger I noticed that I had 9:38 hours of life, then a few minutes later I had 2:15 hours, then after another minute, 4:24 hours. I thought that I had not performed the SMC reset properly so I did it again but I received the same results. Used the laptop for 3 hours from a full charge and the battery was run down into the red and I re-charged it till it was 100% over night and started all over again. The usage is using Chrome browsing the web and sending emails, even with my original battery I averaged 7-8 hours and that was using photoshop, illustrator, MS word all open at the same time. Ultimately the end result is that my original battery while only lasting for a few hours, reported steadily and with accuracy honest numbers, with this one I get estimates all over the place leading me to think there is an issue with this battery including having the same usability time as my much older and well used original battery.

I gave this battery a full week to level out, however the lifespan is not the same as what a new battery should be, the estimates jump in varying half hour or hour increments. I have taken screen shots of these as well showing estimated time and percentages to gauge the extreme gaps in estimation. My original battery has been put back in and the estimates are not erratic at all, unfortunately the life span is the same as the new replacement. Apple clearly has something special in their batteries so you have to take them to their store for replacement.
