I bought the crib tent when my son was 11 months old and figured out how to climb out of his crib. I was concerned that he would get hurt climbing out of the crib when he woke up during the night. Our pediatrician recommended moving him to a bed OR getting a crib tent. Since he was nowhere near ready to move out of the crib to a bed, we got the crib tent.

The assembly instructions for the crib tent were poor - a bit cryptic and the diagrams didn't help much. Fortunately, it's not a terribly complex product and I was able to assemble it after a few brief wrong turns.

The tent attached easily to the crib and has remained secure for months. It can remain on the crib when lowering the side rail and while changing sheets. It zips securely shut and my son hasn't figured out how to unzip the tent.

When I put the tent on the crib, I felt a bit like I was turning the crib into a cage. However, my son hasn't complained about the tent and actually likes to play in the crib with the tent zipped up. Most importantly, I feel confident that he is safe while he is in his crib at night. It took a little getting used to, but was the best option for us.

We have 2 cats and one in particular loved to get into the crib before the baby arrived. We got this to keep the cat out and it works great! I saw the cat try to jump onto the tent before the baby arrived and it didn't collapse at all and he's a 15 pound cat! He bounced right off of it.

Highly recommended to families with cats!

I got this crib tent to keep my cats from getting into the crib with my baby. It does a great job at keeping them out of the crib. I have three cats ranging from 7 to 10 pounds.

The problem comes in the convenience of it with everday life. It is a real pain to change the crib sheet because you can only reach in from the front and you can't lift the mattress up easily. The tent itself is no easy thing to put on and take off. The only times I have taken the entire thing off is when I have to change the height of the mattress.

The other convenience problem is with the way it attaches, you cannot use a pull-down side on the crib. Luckily though I am tall and don't have too much trouble getting my baby in and out. My crib has three height levels for the mattress, and the first two levels weren't so bad, but when I got to the lowest level that is when it got kind of hard. Trying to put a sleeping baby in that is growing quickly and getting heavier, can become kind of tricky.

My 1 1/2 year old son just discovered the joy of crawling out of his crib -- no matter the time, he'd climb out rather than go to sleep. Since riding in the car was the only thing that would put him to sleep, I rushed out two days later to purchase the Crib Tent. I was a little nervous about putting it together after reading some of the other reviews but I managed to do it by myself in 30 - 45 minutes (and that was with 3 kids 6 and under "helping" me!). I found the first couple of steps in the instructions hard to follow -- it was a breeze from there. You do have to be careful when inserting the top rods into the pockets -- if you don't make sure they are fully inserted into the woven material at the end you can make a hole in the fabric. Some of the other reviewers comment on having some difficulty changing crib sheets. To combat that difficulty, I recommend using an Ultimate Crib Sheet -- it simply lays over the mattress and snaps around the rails of the crib (you can just leave the decorative crib sheet under it). My son didn't react one way or the other to having the tent on the bed -- just fidgeted around a couple of minutes as usual and went right to sleep. Bottom line, the Crib Tent works and, although this is my last child, it was one of the best baby supply purchases I have ever made!

this product works wonders for a climbing baby, my 14 month old loves to climb anything and after she made it out of her crib i decided something had to be done. i ordered the crib tent and now i can get a good night's sleep because i know she isn't going to fall out. believe it or not she really likes her tent, it gives her security since she has given up her bottle. i like this product so well, i am ordering one for her grandmother for those overnight visits. i believe the peace of mind you have is worth the investment.

This product provides much peace of mind for new parents who are also cat owners. I could not think of finding new homes for my three cats. This was recommended in a child preparation class.
I will admit that it took some work getting it to fit the crib, and it is not very cute. This, however, will keep cats from getting into the bed. That was all that I wanted.

This is a wonderful product!!! My 16 month old had learned how to climb out of her crib as well as all the furniture in her room! The doctor indicated it was no longer safe to leave her in her crib at night. SOOO we took all of the furniture out of her room and tried to get her to sleep on a matress on the floor!! It was fun trying to reason with a 16 month old. After 4 nights of nooo sleep I went and found this item at Babies-R-Us. It is wonderful. She is very tall (34 inches) and it not restrictive at all. It keeps her in and lets me get a little sleep. This is a great product!!!

My baby was exceptionally tall, (37 & 1/2 inches), but less than 2 years old when I decided to purchase a crib tent. I read a lot of reviews saying that they were "cages" and for "lazy parents" etc. BUT the fact remains that I know I'm not a lazy parent and I just want a SAFE KID!! He was nowhere near ready for a toddler bed yet... he was WAY TOO ADVENTUROUS!!
I emailed the "Danny Foundation", a foundation created when a young baby died in his crib to educate parents on crib safety. They recommended the crib tent to me, so then I KNEW I wasn't doing anything morally wrong as some of the other reviews would have you believe. If a foundation whose only reason for existing is keeping kids safe in their cribs recommends it, then darn it, it's good enough for me!

The tent was not hard to put together either. I did it all by myself in about 20 minutes. It goes together a lot like a regular old dome tent.

It has kept my boy safe and cozy in his crib and he loves "camping in his tent" every night.

We bought this product when my daughter was a few days old, after a few restless night's sleep by me and my husband. I was afraid that our friendly cat would crawl into the crib with my newborn and curl up next to/ on top of her. This product was well worth the price, and is very sturdy. The zipper is very smooth and quiet, and does not wake up our sleeping baby. We will be purchasing a second one for our next baby.

Like most writing the reviews, we were panicked when our 20 month old began climbing out of his crib and refusing to stay in his crib for naps or bedtime. We thought life as we knew it was over! We saw the crib tent online and thought it looked so flimsy our 20 month old would rip it right off. Then I read the reviews here, and was so encouraged to hear that it worked! I ran out to Babies R Us and bought it that afternoon. It actually is not flimsy at all - yes, difficult to put together somewhat, but the engineering design is quite impressive. The velcro isn't just little velcro strips - it is several SUPER velcro strips. My son is adjusting, but seems to like it, and we have had two restful nights' sleep.
And thanks for all those who reviewed the product - we were more careful when putting it together because we had been "warned" it was difficult to assemble. It was also helpful advice from someone to make a big deal out of the "move" to the bed - we called it the big boy tent and told our son it was special. Then we let him jump and play in the tent for a long time before bedtime. He had so much fun he didn't want to come out for his bedtime stories and prayers. And best part - he couldn't get out and as a result he (and we) got a good night's sleep!
