The picture used to sell this listing is for a gunuine Dell brand adapter. What was shipped was a cheap knock off without a Dell logo and without the rubber band to hold the cords in place.

Although this could be an accident, since there is so much competition for this type of item, I suspect bait and switch. This is a very dishonest practice and a waste of time for buyers.

After owning this item for 6 months the cord that connects the power supply to the outlet just broke apart one day.

I was skeptical if this would be a original dell charger and if it would work but after I recieved it, it shipped fast. it works very well with my inspiron and very good buy at the price. recommend to buy if you are looking for a replacement dell charger.

I've received my item today (I live in kingdom of Bahrain and using Shop&Ship service with Aramex).

But unfortunately, I've seen some problem in it:

1- The wire cord doesn't fit our sockets.
2- The wire doesn't fit with the (charger).
3- There is no rubber strap on this item, (against the picture in Amazon).

This is not an original dell cord. It looks like one when you receive it, and it acts like one for a while. I would be surprised if anyone who left a review had their cord for a full year, mine lasted less than 5 months and the company 'warranty' is only 3 months, probably due to Amazon requirements.

This cord is either refurbished from Original parts or Mfg rejects being purchased and resold due to poor quality. I sent an e-mail to the company 'Genuine Parts' asking if it was refurbished and received no reply.

I have been using my replacement for a couple of weeks. Today the adapter nearly caught on fire. The plastic of the main part is melted. Thankfully it did not permanently damage my laptop nor start a fire. I am going to send this back and not make the same mistake again.

Two years ago I ordered a power cord/adapter from CST for an Inspiron 1505. The item received had a grounded plug and fit snugly into the computer. I was satisfied with the product and price and so ordered another from CST. The one I received this time from CST did not have a ground plug, and fits loosely into the computer. It works, and while both had the Dell logo, I am not as happy with it as the one previously purchased because of the lose fit.

This adapter was exactly like my original. It came quickly and I am very pleased with the service I received.
It works great and doesn't seem to get as hot as the one that came with my laptop.

I have a dell inspiron 6000 and this charger does NOT charge the laptop. I need to have the laptop plugged in all the time to use it and that defeats the purpose of the portability of it. Do not buy!!!
