I really tested the seasons through Vanessa-Mae's play, January 18, 2001
I am leaving in an Asian country with two seasons, i.e. dry and rainy seasons, and have never been living in a four-season country. I was expecting to taste the four seasons' atmosphere when I purchased Vanessa-Mae's The Original Four Seasons album; and yes, listening to the music I felt as if I lived in a four-season country: Spring has come, the birds announce it in happy song, and the brooks flow at the breath of zephyrs. Summer, swarms of gnats and flies, thunder shakes the heavens and breaks down the wheat. Autumn, the game flies and follow its track being frightened by the hunter. Winter, shivering, frozen in the chilling snow and blasting wind. I pray may Vanessa-Mae be given long live, good health, so that she would be continously sharing with us enormous fun through her playing violin. Vanessa-Mae, I love your musical philosophy and performance......my best regards to you.

Four Seasons, November 8, 2003
I always have loved Vivaldi's ultimate overture "The Four Seasons". I originally grew up on baroque and classical music before I progressed on to rock music as a child. As an adult, I still love "The Four Seasons". It makes me think of the comedy "The Four Seasons" with Alan Alda and Carol Burnett. I have been needing to have a copy of "The Four Seasons" on cd but never gotten around to buying one until a year or two ago when I was also wanted to check out classical violinist Vanessa Mae's music. So I killed two birds with one stone and bought Vanessa Mae's "Original Four Seasons" through my now-defunct Columbia House account. I recently threw the cd into my portable stereo and rediscovered this cd. As good as this cd is, it was probably not the best example of hearing Vanessa's music. I think I am better off with one of her other cds that contains original compositions. Just about anyone (that is trained on some sort of instrument) can perform Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". Nevertheless Vanessa does a marvelous job performing Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". I can never tire of this particular masterpiece from Vivaldi. Vanessa is quite an accomplished musician. The fact that she is Asian scores major points with me since a) I am Asian and b) there are not enough Asian celebrities in music (as well as Hollywood). I definitely need to check out Vanessa's other albums.
