Greatest book ever written in my opinion, but I'm writing this review to warn people that once again Amazon has inaccurate information. This is the THIRD Kindle Frankenstein I have bought from Amazon claiming to be the ORIGINAL version. All three have NOT been the original. They are the 1831 revised edition.

Never having read Frankenstein, and finally being required to read this edition of the text for a graduate course, I was pleasantly surprised by both Mary Shelley's story and Dr. Robinson's obvious dedication to the text. The presentation is stellar--he gives clear distinction to the text Mary Shelley wrote and then shows where Percey Shelley edited/suggested changes.

Aside from the fantastic scholarship going into this book, on a the physicality of the book; I've never (imagine this in italics:) felt a nicer book. The pages and the cover combined are the most satisfying-to-hold book combination I've ever experienced. That sounds a little strange, but maybe it has something to do with a lot of book-holding experience.

This is over and above the top. To be able to read both versions back-to-back is a real treat. This item is better than the best!

Amazing how different the original story is to the legend of frankenstien. Pop Quiz: Where did this story take place? a) a cabin on a barren field, b)the dungeon of a castle in Transilvania, c) on a ship, d) a cryogenics lab in Geramny, e) in a rented apartment?
