Guitar Case Scale Book,
This review is from: The Original Guitar Case Scale Book: Compact Reference Library (Paperback)
`The Original Guitar Case Scale Book' like it's name suggests, is a book that fits neatly into your guitar case and is designed to sit perfectly under the neck in the case. It covers a wide variety of scales and has enough information to get you up and running in learning and applying scales. It tells you how to use to book and the benefits of practising scales before introducing each scale and explaining he differences and use of each. The scales are shown in standard notation as well as in tab and are extremely easy to read for beginners. This covers the various modes (Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian etc etc), Chromatic scales, Rock scales and Jazz scales. It also shows you how to practise them to get the most out of your learning. There are books out there with more extensive lists of scales, but I feel that this book is probably the best place to start without getting too bogged down in theory and rare scales you will barely use. It fits easily into all the cases I've tried it with (electric and acoustic hard and soft cases) and it is easy to use and work from. This is worth considering for your first forays into scales and the developments they can offer to your music.
