I first bought the Original Sprout Hair gel and it worked nicely on my 23 month old's hair. I think the calmer works well in comparison. The calmer is a bit thicker and feels heavier on his hair than the gel. My son has very fine, medium curly hair (both he and I are mixed) that is a bit prone to frizzies, so a bit of product does the trick.

I put the calmer on at night after his bath and then touch it up in the morning. It works pretty well on the back part of his head (which is really where the frizz is) - it takes out the frizz and creates a uniform curl. I'm letting little man's hair grow out a bit since these products really create a great cohesive curl.

I'd recommend this or the gel. The gel is lighter weight, but it works well. The calmer smells better (not that the gel smells badly) than the gel.

All in all, I'm very pleased with this product line. It's nice to have found a gentle product line for the little people. Also, I have searched for comparable products and found none.

I spray my daughters hair with detangler first and comb through it, then I put a small amount and put it through her curls. It is great, leaves it nice, shiny and keeps the curls nice without a crunch and don't agree with the other review that it leaves a film or flakes. I think they must be using too much. GREAT PRODUCT, best I have found for my daughters curls.

This item is nice it does make hair easier to comb as long as it is wet with the gel...also it leaves a film on the hair that flakes like gel. Other than that it is really nice and has a pleasant aroma.

I bought both the gel and curl calmer cream, and I much prefer the cream. It smells great, makes my baby's curls soft, and controls the frizz. She is of mixed race, and has very fine hair that has been growing slowly, so most of the time it is just a little adorable poof. I use the cream right before we go out...I wet her hair, apply a very small amout of cream all over, and comb through. It works very well, but expect that if your baby takes a nap, or rubs the back of her head on the car seat, of course it's going to frizz up again. It's not a miracle cream, but it works better than water :-)

This has been amazing for my daughter's hair. It smooths down her flyaways ...isn't sticky or leave a build-up. I highly recommend it!
