I ordered a pair of the MuckBoots to wear on a long range fishing trip out of San Diego. After wearing them for 11 straight days, I found them to be absolutely comfortable. Even in the tropical climate of our fishing grounds, my feet stayed cool and dry. Without hesitation I highly recommend the boots if you are looking for something comfortable for all day wear. The ordering instructions for boots suggest that if you wear half sizes, order in the whole size down (ie; men's 9 1/2 should order men's 9). That holds true if you plan to wear light weight socks. I found that when wearing medium/heavy weight socks, the next whole size up would have fit better. Also, my order was shipped from Hank's Clothing. Those folks were outstanding to work with. I highly recommend the seller.

This is the first MuckBoot that I have every own and I like the boot very much. It is easy to put on and take off, it is warm on cool days, light weight and I'm a tournament fisherman and on rainy days these are great to have. I really do not have any thing to say negative about the boot, other than would be nice to have different colors.

So far, used it for more than 4 months and didn't have any problems and worry-free from the water going inside the boots. I would recommend this to anyone who is in need for comfort+water proof boots!

This is the second pair of waterproof work boots I've purchased in the last year (the first was not a Muck Boot) and both have sprung leaks within a couple of months. Outrageous, given the price. I wear these daily for 2-3 hours walking pastures and setting up electric fencing. If the pastures are wet, my left foot is soaked all the way to the toe while the right boot is dry. I cannot see the leak visually but it is clearly there.

Of course, Amazon's return policy only allows for a full refund for the first 6 weeks or so. I should have purchased these from another business as most have 1 year warranties on Muck Boot. Shame on Muck Boot for its poor manufacturing and shame on Amazon for such a poor return policy on these boots.

I can tell these will be great when I get the right size... The tipoff should be "Men's 8/Women's 9" - inside the boot it says "Men's 8-8.5/Women's 9-9.5", definitely closer to a 9.5. I am in between an 8.5-9 in women's and with thick wool socks these are a full thumb too big. Seems like men's and women's are usually more like 2 sizes different so treat this sizing as accurate for men and off for women.

These are short boots - substantial but not even as high as a typical mid-boot - better than a clog, yet not as intense as a mid. Sold for fishing but just a short Muck with a slightly different tread, so they look great for any mucky activity (I'll be cleaning dog kennels and working in the yard in them). I'll replace with a size down and hope for the best.

Pros: Supremely comfortable!

Cons: Not highly durable; soles can slip

I've owned the same pair of MuckBoots Cikana boots since 2005. I used them almost exclusively for offshore fishing on sport boats out of Southern and Baja California. So when Amazon offered the Cikana boots for ~$50 off retail recently, I had to jump on getting another pair to use when my current pair gives up the ghost. Fishing boots are known mainly for utility, not comfort..but the Cikana is nearly the best of both worlds, at least for my use. The footbeds are soft and well cushioned. The uppers offer plenty of room for wide and/or tall feet, unlike some other popular fishing boots out there. I replaced the stock insoles with a pair of Orange Superfeet insoles.

The fact that the Cikana boot is comfortable and lightweight likely leads to the cons I listed. The rubber sole seems quite soft and wears out rather quickly. That's not a glaring negative for me since I'm not wearing the boots 365 days a year. In fact, I maybe get in 25 days of wear per year if I'm lucky, which is why my first pair of Cikanas have lasted so long. The wear issues, however, lead to the other con - lack of traction. Even new, the tread design didn't offer superb traction. At times, I would feel the soles slip on a smooth, wet surface. Luckily, the boats I ride tend to not have too many smooth walking surfaces. But wet surfaces, uh, yeah! So I found I needed to be more careful when wearing these boots on-board if I was walking near a hatch cover or other surfaces that were smooth or non-textured.

My final rating is 4.5 stars. If your usage conditions are similar to mine, you will love the Cikanas. But I'm going with the Amazon rating of 4 to err on the side of caution due to the durability and traction issues I've experienced.

I ordered size 5 Women's (the smallest size), and compared to the Breezy Mid boot, these were noticeably looser. The extra room was comfortable for standing, but unfortunately my big toes jammed into the front when walking. I was looking for a garden and outdoor boot and I primarily got these to compare with the Breezy Mid because of the great price and much nicer color scheme than the Breezy offers. The muted colors would go well with most casual or outdoor clothes, and the inside is a beautiful orange. The Cikana uses a lofted air mesh liner while the Breezy uses a thinner wicking material. Another issue is that the sole is slippery on smooth, hard surfaces, much more than the Breezy. If they would make a Breezy in this color scheme I would be thrilled, but as it is, these were not a good enough fit to keep. However, if you need a low, loose boot and will not be walking on smoother surfaces, this is a very comfortable and good looking boot.

these boots are sturdy, yet lightweight and immediately comfortable .. they are slip on slip off and keep your feet warm with ordinary socks .. i have used them in cold wet weather, and mild coolish weather and they are always comfortable .. great for most outdoor activities, noting i have not used them in snow and ice .. i would anticipate they would perform as well as many other boots in snow/ice conditions with a nice low profile tread pattern .. they even look great with jeans for a trip to town !!

It is good choice for rain and slush. Thermal insulation makes them usable at milder freezing temp. Two straps at the front and the back help to put them on. The only problem I have noticed is quite hard sole which does not give amortization during walking and it can be little hard on the joints. It feels little like walking on the wooden soles but other than this no complain. And I would buy them again.

Having decided to retire my old Redhead boots, I bought the Cikana Mucks late-season on the recommendation of a lot of people I fish with. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I should note that I use these boots for offshore fishing only.

Because I bought these boots late in the fishing season, I've only used them on two fishing trips. One day and half tuna trip in September and one overnight rock cod trip in November. My primary concern with these boots were stand around all day comfort and breathability. The Mucks score big in both categories. The tuna trip had warm weather and my feet didn't get sweaty. The cod trip was cold and my feet stayed toasty! My old boots were somewhat heavy and kept my feet warm, but during the summer the dogs got hot!

The Cikana is what I would call a "mid-size" boot. A lot shorter than the regular calf high boots and taller than fishing shoes. I did get a small amount of water in one boot (an over exuberant deck hand spraying the deck), but overall I stayed dry and the height of the boot worked out fine. Frankly, I thought I'd get more water than I did, but I experienced no problems.

One word of note regarding sizing. I take a size 7-1/2 and this boot is only available in full sizes. After doing a little research I found conflicting fit recommendations. Some reports said go to the next size up and some said down. I decided to go up and in my case, it was the right decision. I found the sizing to be pretty much spot on and the 8 I bought was a little loose. I fixed that by adding gel inserts right on top of the factory footbed. I'm sure that having the extra gel action helps in the comfort department. Aside from that, the ankle fit was snug (but not uncomfortable) as advertised.

Traction was good and I experienced no slips on the wet decks.

Pros:

All day fishing comfort

Surprising breathability

Snug ankle fit

Good traction (off shore fishing)

Light weight

No half sizes - While this might seem like a con, this is actually a plus if you need a boot in a half size like me. Adding a gel insert makes this boot super comfy

Cons:

There's only one color scheme - on my last cod trip, I rolled out of my bunk and saw that half the boots were Muck Cikanas. Good thing I sharpied my name on my pair!

This is a really nice boot with great performance and features. I'm expecting many seasons of fishing with these. I'll write an update after next year's fishing season is over.
