Size facts, May 3, 2010
These are great for my job. I work outside just about every day during the summer - in the rain mostly. I needed something other than rubber boots to look half way dressed up. These are comfortable for all-day use and lightweight enough to run up and down stairs etc. SIZE - since there are no half sizes - it's tough to get a good fit. I am a 10.5 and I tried an 11 to see if that would work - they are a bit big, so I tried the 10s - they were definitely too small. I added a heel pad and extra foot bed liner to the 11s and they are perfect.

Great in theory, poor in implementation, June 6, 2010
It is a great idea. A hiking sole on a mucker. I live in an area with very slick clay, and have fallen many times with the regular garden mucker, so when I saw the sole on the hiking mucker I was excited. But it is poorly executed. Had they just put a substantial sole on the garden mucker they would have had a winner. Instead they tried to make a "hiking shoe". Many reviews talk about the sizing being incorrect for women as a men's 7 is listed as a woman's 8. I wear a women's size 9, so followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered the men's 7 which is generally a woman's size 9. The fit is fine in terms of length. But the shoe is built up around the ankle and gouges when walking. The heel is large and sloppy. I ended up adding another insole and heel cup to boost my foot up enough that the back of the shoe won't gouge my achilles tendon while walking, and the heel is not so sloppy. With these modifications I am making it work, but I won't order another pair.

Rugged & well-made, but too bulky for me., May 9, 2010
This shoe is built for everything outdoors: camping, tending to animals/livestock, hiking, etc. I was interested in these, as I was tired of having wet & muddy shoes when doing landscaping work, which is done far from the "rugged" outdoors. When I got these, I noticed how "chunky" they are, which is the way they're supposed to be. Unfortunately, that is not what I was looking for, as I wanted something a little more nimble and lightweight (more light an athletic shoe).
Luckily, Muck Boots offers so many choices in waterproof rubber shoes. I returned these and instead, purchased a pair of their Edgewater Camp Shoes, which have more of an athletic sole and are much less "chunky." These were the ones I was looking for.
The SUV Hikers are great for true outdoorsmen/women, but if you are wanting something for more home-based outdoor work, such as gardening, landscaping, groundskeeping, etc., you might want to check out the other shoes & boots that Muck has to offer.
