A Good Investment,

I bought the Original Peg Drops by Ardsley because I practice violin every day at
least twice a day. I wore out the pegs on my student violin with frequent change of strings that wore out, so I felt the peg drops would be a good investment for the care of my new orchesta violin. What I like the best about the drops is while my new violin is "settling" there isn't a wood on wood grinding noise while tuning, and the drops aren't like a glue. I hope this is helpful.

I am teaching myself to play violin. When I bought my new outfit, the pegs were super loose! I had to really push them hard to stay in place, and then do all my tuning with the fine tuners. After a few drops of this stuff, the pegs are much more usable. I think I used it 2 or 3 times (whenever the pegs would get loose again), and now the pegs seem to have set in well.

I ordered a bottle of this stuff because my violin's pegs wouldn't stay in place, so I couldn't tune it. Once applied, the pegs stayed wherever I twisted them to without being sticky. You might say this liquid is much too expensive, but its effect cannot be achieved by common household materials. Besides, a single bottle will last years.
Just spend the couple of dollars. Think of it this way: without being properly tuned, you cannot continue playing your instrument.
