Yes, you read that right... I have given these sponges away as gifts to friends, THAT is how much I really like this sponge.

Kitchen sponges have been a long time nemesis of mine. I absolutely HATE doing dishes, and it seems that no matter how I try to organize my kitchen the sponge always seems to end up UNDER all the dishes coated in slime and disgusting by the time I want to use it to wash dishes. Let's face it, within a couple weeks the typical kitchen sponge tends to REEK! I fell into the habit of buying sponges in the biggest package I could find and constantly throwing them out and replacing them.

Then one day, while looking for another big package of sponges on Amazon I came across this sponge and all it's great reviews, figuring I had nothing to lose I gave it a try with the understanding that most likely in a couple weeks it would also hit the trash, but at least I'd only be out a few bucks...

I used the sponge as usual, I really liked the feel of it and it did a decent job, and since it was hardier than other sponges I'd toss it on the top shelf whenever I did a load of dishes in the dishwasher... it was just a sponge, no big deal really.

Then something amazing happened... For one reason or another one day while I was on amazon I looked over my past orders and realized it had been and entire year since I had purchased my sponge!

Now, I'll be the first to admit that a sponge just isn't something I think about all too often unless it goes out of it's way to get my attention (such as through it's odor) but I was completely flabbergasted that I had owned this sponge for an entire year and it was still just like new! This is when I began purchasing them for friends.

I'm not sure it's the best idea to wait a year between replacing your sponges, but the fact that you CAN do this has me bragging about these puppies to my friends.

I say try em out, worst case scenario you're out a few bucks, best case you're permanently done dealing with stinky kitchen sponges!

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about the raves other reviewers had posted as well as the pricey cost of this scrubber. I have been most pleasantly surprised that not only does it scrub my Calphalon cookware without even a hint of scratching but it also works wonders on my Ceran glassware cooktop as well as the glass "ripple" shower doors on my large walk in shower in the master bath! I've ordered both the square and round scrubber and am constantly finding uses for each shape. The square shaped one works really well for squared corner items since it gets into every nook and cranny while the round shape is super for among other things, the cooktop and rounded marble vanity bowls and tops as well as the tiles in each of our baths. They also work wonderfully on the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. Lots better than the worthless brushes that some reviewers have touted as being the best thing since canned beer and sliced bread to clean their Drinkwell fountains with. Our city water leaves high levels of "calk" on everything and these scrubbers really do the job of removing it without damaging the respective surface. Highly recommend either shape of these scrubbers. They sure work for me!

This sponge is amazing! It is extremely durable, has 2 surfaces--one soft and the other for scrubbing, and doesn't pick up smells like regular sponges. One side of the sponge, the soft side, works like the Eraser Magic sponges that are on the market now--it "magically" gets down into the pores and grooves of surfaces to clean marks that a regular sponge can't.
