Book Description

October 19, 2004
A sinfully delightful collection of 50 short stories by established and up-and-coming writers from across the United States, Canada and South Africa. Melding art with craft, this delightful and sometimes scary collection explores lustful cravings, dirty tricksters, and the occaisional murder. The collection also showcases original art by artists from around the country. The cover image, "Envy" was created by California artist Stephen Anderson, a self-proclaimed "pyrogrpaher" who uses a blowtorch in much of his art. This is a must-read for art and story lovers.

Original Sin is an excellent collection of short stories. The seven deadly sins can be interpereted in so many ways. The talented group of writers highlighted in this book offers unique perspectives on mankind's failings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the book cover deceive you!, December 31, 2004
This review is from: Original Sin: The Seven Deadlies Come Home to Roost (Paperback)
This is truly a sequel to the movie "Seven"! The artists and authors have put together a non- religious, creative, worldly- wise perspective of what original sin is really like. An astounding collection of short stories accented with a comical flair that keeps you guessing from the beginning to the end, of what to expect in the next story. The authors are truly in unison with compiling fictitious situations that causes you to ponder and relate them to real life events. The beginning section on anger opens the door too wanting to read the remaining six. Reading this book keeps you on your feet in swift thinking and daily prayer, because you never know what lies beneath the true heart of man. I recommend this book to all of the subway, marc train, charter bus, shuttle flight commuters out there.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the authors comments, March 22, 2005

As one of the authors of short stories in ORIGINAL SIN..., I would like to thank the two reviewers who rated the book five stars. Feedback from readers is very important to writers, especially to those of us who are out there in the literary badlands just trying to stay alive. New writers of short fiction are apparently trying to craft a new thrust in the genre of short literary fiction. Publisher Wanda Mukurjee is taking a risk for us and giving us a voice.
