Gary A. David provides an abundance of research and incredible history between Arizona and Egypt in relation to the skymaps of the Orion Constellation with the Hopi-Egyption connection. David's methodical, insightful book reveals the numerous reasons why I relocated to Arizona to live in the Orion Zone among the Ancient Star Cities in the American Southwest. The Orion Zone is a diligent read with plentiful rewards of knowledge and wisdom.

"The Orion Mystery" opens new possibility's of understanding the global implications of precession and the Great Year. What was the knowledge held by the Ancients? How can the re-awakening of this knowledge help us change the course of history? David's second book "Eye of the Phoenix", extends this understanding. Well worth reading both of these exciting and challenging works.

With intrepidation one picks up a book like this. Will it contain real research or a mish mash of strange musings and theories with no science? David brings together a wealth of information on the cultures of the Southwest and the mysteries they have left us. The ancient fascination with Orion and the aligning of structures is nothing new. However, this has been little explored in the Americas. Yes, there is that concern of drawing lines and connecting dots where no correlations exist. There is a lot of speculation in this book as the author tries to fill in blanks and he admits as much.Of course, did we need the suggestion that maybe the myths are referring to aliens? Must it always come to that? Isn't it enough that the ancients' lives were intertwined with nature and the stars? Is the worldwide fascination with Orion evidence of some secret, lost civilization? Or is just because Orion is so obvious and visible in the sky? Many would disagree that "life forms are probably ubiquitous throughout the universe" (see Rare Earth: Why Complex Life Is Uncommon in the Universe & The Creator and the Cosmos) nor were there aliens at Roswell (Roswell and the Reich). And the supposed foreknowledge of unseen stars by the Dogon of Mali has been proven false. And really, did we need to shoehorn the Templars in here?. So while David sometimes tries to include too much and make too many connections, one can still find this a perfect primer for the lost cultures of the Southwest and appreciate their sophistication. Good complement to other profound works like Robert Temple's 'The Sirius Mystery', and even E. Wallis Budge's excellent series about Egypt from 'The Book of The Dead' to 'The Egyptian Gods'. Gary David also adds more scientific analysis to the very prehistoric ruins I've found on the sacred San Francisco Peaks here in Flagstaff, which look to be much older even than the Anasazi archaeological style, going back to Mu as described in Churchward's 'The Lost Continent of Mu', brought out by the same publisher. There are definite star-system ruins of temples around the Leroux Springs on the Peaks - where of course local opportunists are further desecrating the area with a new wastewater pipeline to funnel sewage water up to the Snowbowl ski area! This callous christian attitude, of course, is what has hurt the Hopis for centuries in a deliberate manner, leaving them in utter poverty and their religion in precarious balance.

Lots of words without too much information. Author seems to like his idea and may have done a lot of research but you have to read thru a lot of "stuff" to get to the information.
