5.0 out of 5 stars BIG Orka
Cooking in the Orka Steam Cooker is just about a fool proof deal. Meats are cooked tender & moist. Heating up Pizza, bread, left overs are a cinch. Easy to clean, manually or by dishwasher. I even baked a Turkey thigh in it and it was DEE-lish!!!
A must have for the person who hates a lot of pots for quick and easy cooking!

3.0 out of 5 stars Orka Steamer description and instuctions very misleading
I have used the Orka "steamer" several times and it seems to work well for cooking vegetables like Broccoli or Brussels Sprouts. It has a sturdy feel and the lid seals pretty tightly. The instructions however, are maddening. I quote: "It is not essential to grease the pan, unless you want to for the purposes of your recipe". "Wash and lightly grease the silicone steamer...

Review for Orka A68900 silicone square steam cooker:
This unit is not a steamer, unless you want to add
some water to it for whatever you are cooking (vegetables,
meat, etc., but the food will lie in a shallow layer
of water), so it is not conventional steaming as we
tend to think of it. Therefore, the steaming effect / process
will be minimal.
However, the silicone construction is really great, and there
does tend to be a bit of "sealing" of the lid as the cooking
occurs, and that is rather nifty.
I have other steamers (electric and manual) when I want to
truly steam something, but this unit is a nice cooking vessel
for cooking or reheating.

This is without doubt now my favorite microwave accessory in my kitchen along with the other Orka products I have purchased here on Amazon. You can cook anything in it and I even made an omelets today for the first time in the Microwave.

This is my favorite steamer.I use it all the time to steam my vegetables in the microwave. It is easy to clean and doesn't take up much counter space. I have an electric steamer also and I use that to steam wonderful tasting chicken breast (my favorite) I found a lot of recipes on the net.

The instructions however, are maddening. I quote: "It is not essential to grease the pan, unless you want to for the purposes of your recipe". "Wash and lightly grease the silicone steamer before first use and always for mixtures not containing fat". Duh? In the description of the item:"food cooks without added fats." Too much double-speak for the product makes me feel mistrustful.
