I have several Orka silicone products and they have become some of my kitchen favorites! I especially like to microwave fresh fish and vegetables. Actually, everything I've microwaved in my Orka steam cookers has been moist and delicious, even without adding liquids. They are truly amazing. Orkas are especially wonderful for warming up leftovers. My single friends especially like them because they are perfect for preparing small quick meals. I particularly like this square steam cooker because the bottom is reinforced and doesn't bend as much as the others. If you purchase any of the Orka products, I can assure you that you won't regret it. I purchased several for Christmas gifts and know they will be very much appreciated.

I filled this Orka steamer up to the top with broccoli, popped it in the microwave, and in four minutes I had perfectly steamed broccoli. Looked and tasted great. I buy broccoli in big warehouse-size bags. I often ended up with a too-big pot of overcooked bland unappetizing broccoli. Tonight, Wow! I am a believer! This little Orka is a wonderful time saver, AND a food saver if you previously tried to save time by cooking a big batch of something which quickly lost its appeal. All I had to go was rinse some broccoli, snip away the thick end stalks, pull off the smaller florets and drop them into my Orka, and in a matter of minutes I had the best-tasting broccoli. And, the bonus - no saucepan and lid to wash. How much better does it get? Oh, I can't forget to praise the manufacturer for making this in my favorite bright red color.

Before I bought this Orka steamer I was using tons of the Ziplock brand steam bags from the store. I'm so glad I found this thing, definitely cuts down on the money and waste! I've used it for fresh broccoli, asparagus, and brussel sprouts to great results. You can add olive oil or butter and any seasonings you want before sticking it in the microwave. Pretty much anything you'd normally steam in a pot on the stove can be steamed in this within a fraction of the time it would normally take. The silicone makes it really easy to clean (and mine, despite the many dishwasher loads it has endured, still looks brand new). Highly recommended!

Love this cooker. The square does seem to be a sturdier when taking out of the micro. Perfect for 2 servings.
Cooks without oil or water, but vegetables are tender and moist. Thanks for all reviews, they help!

I bought this steamer awhile back so that I could eat a bit healthier while at work. Although, I still haven't used it at work, I've tried it a few times at home. Overall, I'm happy with this steamer; I've steamed broccoli multiple times and it comes out exactly the way I like it. You have to experiment a bit to get the foods cooked the way you like them, but it's worth it.

My only real criticism is that you have to fill the container, the few times I didn't fill it all the way I was left with a soggy mess. I cut up a single carrot and steamed it to see how it would taste, it was completely inedible. If you fill the steamer up, it tends to work a lot better.

You won't get stove-top steamer quality foods out of this, but you'll usually get pretty close if you spend some time getting to know how the steamer works.

This is great for reheating items since it keeps moisture in. Great for reheating bread / biscuit items that may have gotten hard, just add a few drops of water and it steams your bread items and brings them back to life. Perfect for cooking fresh veggies, just add a small amount of water and in seconds to a minute or so and you have wonderfully cooked veggies that you did not need to add oil or butter to. I have cooked salmon in this just lightly brushing with oil and salt and pepper and within 3 minutes or so ( depends on size ) you have perfect salmon. Cleans up easily by hand or dishwasher

This item is a time saver, food comes out moist and tender.
I would recommend this product to anyone who uses a microwave.

I Bought this steamer because I felt guilty using the plastic (throw away) steamer bags for microwaving fish filets. it ends up that this steamer is excellent for steaming a single serving or two of fresh veges, or a block of frozen spinach, but does not seal tightly enough for fish. The steamer is easy to clean and has held up nicely from every day use for veges...but i am still buying the plastic steamer bags to properly cook my fish filets in the microwave.

I ordered this to replace my small veggie steamer but it's smaller than the one I was going to replace. But I ended up taking it to my office and I steam half a bag of frozen vegetables nearly every day to have with my lunch. It's perfect for that. But tried to put a whole bag of frozen broccoli and cauliflower in and it wasn't large enough to hold that much. Beware, the size given is overall measurements not the inside dimensions. It's a wonderful steamer, just too small for most uses.

Happy with my purchase; it does what it said it would do, cleans up nicely heats well.

I bought the biggest size I could find (42 oz) and would love to have another one that is bigger. However, I have not been able to find one like this offered in a larger size.

Worth the $, use it a lot.
