5.0 out of 5 stars It looks cool and really works!
After cutting and handling onions and garlic this stainless bar of soap definitely eliminates the odor from your hands. You just have to move it around in your hands while under flowing faucet water.

1.0 out of 5 stars DOES NOT WORK
Its that simple, really. I've followed directions, used cold water. Heck, I just attempted to use it before writing this review. I would be telling you something different right now IF IT HAD WORKED! My hands still have the odor of chopped garlic from last night's dinner. Simply, does this work? Should you add this to your cart? I bought an ice cream scoop for ten bucks...

1.0 out of 5 stars DOES NOT WORK, June 8, 2009

Its that simple, really. I've followed directions, used cold water. Heck, I just attempted to use it before writing this review. I would be telling you something different right now IF IT HAD WORKED! My hands still have the odor of chopped garlic from last night's dinner. Simply, does this work? Should you add this to your cart? I bought an ice cream scoop for ten bucks at a gadget store a few months back. Cuts hard ice ream like a dream and gives me a perfect scoop every time. If someone at the gadget store wanted the scoop on the scoop, I'd tell them to buy one for themselves and three more for friends. In no way, shape, or form can I justify this hunk of steel "soap" nor recommend it to anyone as more than a paperweight with a cool wall mount (the mount may be useful). Ten bucks doesn't get you the same thing everywhere.

Furthermore, people, please, don't buy the hype. There is many chemical theories but no explanation (or scientific experiment) as to why this supposedly works or if it even works at all. The supposed odor-removing properties of stainless steel can happen with any piece of stainless steel (again, if at all). This hunk of metal's shape is purely decorative. Please, I urge you to do 5 minutes of research on stainless steel soap before purchasing. If I had done so before rather than after, it wouldn't be lying uselessly on my table. If you still want one after that, you can have mine.

Update, October 20, 2009: Just so we're clear, in my final objective attempt at giving this product worth, my hands, fingernails, cuticles, and all couldn't have been any cleaner after scrubbing with Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash. I followed packaging directions (of which, there are not many) to the letter; passed the "soap" through fingers, washed for the suggested time. In fact, the first three times I used the steel "soap" I did so in this manner, with my opinion of the product subsequently lessening with each use. This disappointment spurred experimentation of my own: different "pre-wash" soaps, times of day, water temps, all with the same result. I suggest that if someone is having wonderful results with this product it may be due to a placebo effect (I experienced it on my first use, followed by skepticism) or, perhaps, due to stainless steel's supposed natural oxidation properties. Either way, you'd be better off rubbing your hands on that stainless steel spoon in your drawer (I've heard others use their sink) than spending money on a product from a company that doesn't even have a website to support its own dubious claims.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really works!, September 1, 2009
This review is from: Orka Deos Stainless Steel Soap (Kitchen)
I bought one of these last year and I love it. The trick is to wash your hands with regular soap first and then using cold water make sure your rub your hands hard on the stainless steel soap and use the front tip under your fingernails. At first I kept smelling garlic or onions and then I realized that I was not getting the odor out from under my fingernails. You also have to pass it between each finger to get the odor off. I love it. I am buying 5 more for family members.

Most people only rub their hands with this. Use the tip to get under your fingernails and it will work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than regular soap, February 14, 2009
This review is from: Orka Deos Stainless Steel Soap (Kitchen)
I love this product. I receive a lot of complaints from coworkers about my body odor and this can be quite embarrasing at times. I can't smell myself, but people say it's sort of like an old McDonalds bag full of rotten socks. I'm not real big on showering and regular soap isn't enough when I do, so finding this magical soap was like a gift from Allah.

1.0 out of 5 stars Work?, February 20, 2011
This review is from: Orka Deos Stainless Steel Soap (Kitchen)
I agree with with the other 1 star. Experiment with a stainless steel spoon. Your drawer is loaded with them. Research the net for 2 minutes. Rub your hands on your stainless sink. If it worked, every public washroom would have one on a chain to save on soap and the mess. It boggles the mind to think people will buy this. No wonder Obama is president. Hey. How is that change working for you? Yes, they sell them on TV too. Also try the washer balls so you can wash your clothes without soap and waste more money.
