Before I start my rant, I will say that yes, I did clean it before the first use as per the included instructions.
My biggest gripe, is that this sprays so fine that a big portion of the oil just goes into the air. Every time I spray it, you can see feathery, cloudy stuff floating in the air for a long time afterwards. It looks similar to walking into a room where people are smoking, except it's more confined to about a 3'x3' area around where it was sprayed. So not only is some of the oil wasted, it leaves a very fine mist of oil on other nearby work surfaces. I always scoot away right after spraying and wait till I can no longer see the mist in the air; so I'm not breathing in oil.
Plus, it's very inefficient. I have to pump the heck out of it, only to get just a few seconds of spray, and only a small percentage of it goes into the pan.
I bought this to replace my last mister, which was a simple sprayer (not the pump type). The old non-pump sprayer worked for a solid two years before breaking, but I have not been able to find another one like it.
Bottom line, I have tried this off and on for the last couple of weeks and I just don't like it at all. So today I took the oil that was left in the mister and poured it back into my olive oil bottle. I know many people have given favorable reviews, and it was based on those reviews that I bought this product. I really had high hopes, but unfortunately this sprayer doesn't work well for me.
