About the Author
English writer, famous for his two epic series of historical novels, the Barchester series and the Palliser series. Trollope was educated at Harrow and Winchester but was unable to complete his education due to his father's indebtedness. He worked in the postal services and traveled expansively as a postal surveyor. After his retirement he helped established St. Paul's Magazine, continued to travel and wrote some 60 books. Other then the Barchester and the Palliser series, he wrote The Way We Live Now (1875), The West Indies and the Spanish Main (1859), North America (1862), Australia and New Zealand (1873), and South Africa (1878). Trollope's autobiography was published posthumously in 1883.
