6th British Airborne Division's attacks on 'Pegasus' Bridge and the Merville Battery are remembered as two of the most remarkable actions which took place in Normandy on June 6th, 1944. The division fought for far longer than just one day, however, achieving a great deal of success by securing the Allied left flank and creating a firm base from which a breakout into the French interior could be launched. The battlefield tours which follow include the famous and dramatic assaults on 'Pegasus' Bridge and the Merville Battery, but also the lesser known struggle to secure the British southern flank around Le Bas de Ranville, Longueval and St. Honorine on June 6th-7th and the Battle of Breville on June 12th.

About the Author

Lloyd Clark is a senior lecturer in the Department of War Studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Currently writing a book on the British role in the Battle of the Bulge for Sutton, he is the author of books on both World Wars and has contributed to more than 20 other volumes. Lloyd lives in rural Hertfordshire with his wife and three children.

This Book like many Published in Europe is built not only round the Battle or event but, also around a tour of the Battlefield today.
That said it provides a blow by blow description of the Battle , Orbats , Maps and personel comments by some of the participents.
If your a Military History Buff or Wargamer this Book needs to be in your Library.
