Marvin Santiago is one of the premier voices out there. Songs such as "Vasos en COlores" and Fuego a la Jicotea" are classics.

Marvelous...,

El Pasajero is one of my favorites of all time, just on the verge of control with the soneo as he throws it out and just pulls it back working all around the clave. Agree with the other posters, this is real straight-up salsa, no romantic crooning or whining here, it's straight from the street y con sabor Boricua! I met him at Veracruz beach in Panama in 1993,a class act all around.

Most of Marvin Santiago's big solo hits are all here. "Fuego A La Jicotea", "Sonero", "Vasos En Colores", "Para Usted", "El Pasajero", "Frente A Ustedes", "El Mangoneo" and "La Libertad" are stone Salsa classics from one of the greatest soneros of all time. Marvin's incredibly raw and unrefined vocals coupled with an unashamedly street-oriented improvisational approach put him in a class by himself. Despite some tracks' relatively poor sound quality I strongly recommend this 2-CD set to all Salsa fans.

This guy is a chanting genius. His songs are off the hook. I too can not understand why he isn't more popular. Does anyone even know where he is? no me gusta bochinche, pero me han dicho que esta viviendo sin piernas y carcelao.
